I literally watched every game. I also watched the leafs out chance Florida and lose. That’s how it goes sometimes. I don’t understand how this is so hard for you guys to accept lol. Florida won, it’s not a big deal. There’s literally a team that goes on a deep run like that every other year. Why are you so self conscious about it? The leafs shouldn’t have even been in the second round to begin with IMO. Also, I don’t even think either team played particularly well especially the leafs. That doesn’t change that the leafs didn’t out chance Florida, because they definitely did.

^ this. Was all series. Vs the leafs, and Carolina. Bob was unreal. Those are point blank shots from some of the biggest stars in the game. Perimeter shots though. Never got to the inside lol

Oh look, more people telling you things you just refuse to accept.

Might be time to just admit you never watched the series bud.

Im sure that’s what the goal posts will be shifted to.

Yes his checks notes, 0 goals and 5 assists were outstanding. I especially liked how after a very good first game you never noticed him at all other than after the whistle scrums.
Since when is a PPG player a poor player? Especially in the playoffs? You never noticed Tkachuk? I no longer think YOU watched the series. Yikes.

I mean it's just the same people saying the same thing over and over again. Nothing new lol.
we’ve had new people in here, but mostly yes. I know my team, I know what I watched in December and January vs what I saw down the stretch and into the playoffs.

Gosh, how memories fade. The Panthers beat the Bruins and Canes because -- to some significant degree -- those teams had injuries to key players (which would happen to the Panthers themselves in the end). The other team the Panthers played was healthy, but they were as soft as a giant bag of marshmallows dropped into a shipping hold of jumbo cotton balls and the Panthers largely just intimidated them into a profound ineffectiveness that had little to do with Bobrovski other than that he was there to watch the successful bullying up close.

Tampa is still the best Florida team.

This thread shows how much false confidence cheering for a team can give a person. Like this dude from Vegas who suddenly feels himself to be a God amongst men because a team he did absolutely nothing to help in any way won a Cup.

Florida fans just continuing with the little man syndrome they've had since Tampa embarrassed them so many times and actually won.

The f*** are you talking about? This is just old man ramblings.

Funny a fellow with the name “13 Cups” is in here talking about little man syndrome.

Panthers look good for this season.
Like Tbay before them ....they learned, adjusted , and made bold changes to become a "built for play offs" team
Good to see. It was a great run to watch.

Great and legit Battle of Florida has finally emerged!
Battle of Ontario likely making a comeback!
Atlantic getting very interesting.
Too bad age old rivalry Bruins Habs died right down.

1. Toronto
2. Florida
3. Ottawa
4. Buffalo

5. Tampa Bay
6. Boston
7. Detroit
8. Montreal

I'll go with some "bold" predictions here.

Buffalo over Tampa? That's certainly a bold prediction

AND Ottawa finishing top 3 didn't even see that originally.

Both seem unlikely although I think the Ottawa prediction is slightly more likely

For the last 5 years Toronto's biggest issue has always been overall team D and with their newest additions / deletions, the team is much much weaker overall team D.

Florida
Buffalo
Boston
.
.
.
.
.

What the f*** is this? None of this, literally NONE of this is true.

The issue has been

A secondary scoring beyond the core 4.

B not being able to generate offense from the backend Beyond Reilly.

C goaltending Be it Jack Campbell allowing 3 OT on just 8 OT shots.

Or Samsonov allowing 3+ goals in 6 of the 8 playoff games he finished the Leafs need more from their goalies in the playoffs.

if A, and B are working then It's possible C can be overcome.

But until the ROR trade, Kyle Dubas hadn't brought in ONE legitimate secondary scorer to help the core, it took him nearly 5 years to bring in a proven legitimate secondary scorer.

Treliving brought in 2 within 5 hours on July 2nd, he did more for the forward depth in 5 hours than Dubas did in 5 years.

Dubas never properly addressed the need for a 2nd D man that can generate offense.

Again Treliving did that within about 6 hours on July 1st.

The issues that Kyle Dubas REFUSED to address for 5 years have been addressed and they took Treliving a total of 2 days

1. Buffalo: The hot take. I see this team having a NJ Devils kind of breakout this year. Great young core. I think Dahlin continues to progress and Power takes a step as well. If they can get any kind of goaltending look out.

2. Toronto: Went back and forth between putting them over Buffalo. Great regular season team. I'm just not sold on their D though. Goaltending is also a question for me. Nonetheless, they will be at the top of the division.

3. Ottawa: I think they will be much improved. Great young core. Similar to Buffalo, if they get goaltending from Korpisalo they could be a threat.

4. Tampa Bay: Went back and forth with putting them ahead of Ottawa. I don't think they are washed quite yet.

5. Boston: Really tough choice between them and Detroit at 5. Like Tampa I don't think they're washed but it is getting to that point. Losing Bergeron hurts. Should still be competitive though.

6. Detroit: Wanted to put them at 5 but IMO they are still a year or two away.

7. Florida: Another hot take. I don't know why, but I just have a feeling they are going to have a disappointing year. Could be totally wrong. A lot depends on Tkachuk's health.

8. Montreal: Clearly rebuilding, about 3-4 years out from being a threat in this division.

These are more positions I would bet on (given what I think the odds will be) moreso than what I think is likely.

But IMO Tampa was underwhelming in the regular season last year. They're getting older. Any further decline could be trouble. Ottawa I am actually fairly high on.

Rank by goalies, D, and overall team mental/physical toughness (all critical ingredients to playoff success) ... let's see how the rankings line up.

For me

Florida
Tampa
Boston

Toronto

Hard to evaluate the rest but thinking 1 or 2 teams are ready. Especially with the boatload of extremely young talented prospects that have been accumulated and ready for trades.

Florida - Best of the East in my opinion. Last year was the return of Bob
Toronto - Regular season studs, playoff duds
Buffalo - (the Rock voice) Finally......the Sabres have come back to the playoffs!
Tampa - 8th team in the east, then playoff contenders. Rinse, repeat
Ottawa - Flirts with playoff spot the entire season, is out in the last week of the season
Habs - Surprise!!! This is as homer as I can go, but I believe in this core. I think they will surprise a few teams
Detroit - Purgatory for a few more years. Too good to lottery it, too bad to make playoffs. I see them stuck, unless they can make some FA splashes.
Boston - Too many losses. Sink to the bottom of the league. Win the lottery. Team enters quick rebuild
