It’s too bad that this thread is about predictions for next year and your performance in this thread, after being told by an equal amount of leaf and non leaf fans, that the playoff run from last year was both goalie dependant and unlikely to continue into this season, indicates hearing the truth tickled a nerve and upset you. You’re just having a hard time coming to grips with it and have an axe to grind with leaf fans when it’s 50-50 leaf and non leaf fans telling you. Somehow you get to dismiss one party telling you it was a lucky run off goaltending / timely scoring.
I wish you’d both drop it, it’s being going on for a week, and neither are getting anywhere, other than derailing topic.

Gosh, how memories fade. The Panthers beat the Bruins and Canes because -- to some significant degree -- those teams had injuries to key players (which would happen to the Panthers themselves in the end). The other team the Panthers played was healthy, but they were as soft as a giant bag of marshmallows dropped into a shipping hold of jumbo cotton balls and the Panthers largely just intimidated them into a profound ineffectiveness that had little to do with Bobrovski other than that he was there to watch the successful bullying up close.

Totally. That’s why it took a .943 out of Bob lol and a .960 the series after.

Peppering the goalie with a gazillion very low risk perimeter shots is going to run up that average pretty quickly, which is what happened in both series.
Late to the thread huh?

High danger shots vs Florida:
Vegas: 64
Toronto: 12 lol. JK. In reality, 63
Carolina: 62

Probably should do some research before making outlandish claims

Why would I do research when I actually watched both series? Both the Leafs and Canes floated around outside taking a gazillion perimeter shots. Bobrovski either gloved them or swatted them away easily. True close-in shots were at a minimum.

Damn. Vegas must’ve done the same.

Why would I be angry? I’m talking to someone who is poorly educated. I’m just trying to help you. You’re just white knighting on a hockey message board. Peak cringe. Yeah I should’ve been happy if my overpriced goalie didn’t play well. You’re so predictably boring lol.
I feel like I'm talking to someone who is 16...

Bye.

Tkachuk was the best skater in that series by a mile. Bob didn't need to be superman for Florida to win.

It’s annoying when people don’t know wtf they’re talking about and come off is if they do. The Panther ran over the leafs, their core was out hustled by our 3rd line, we got the goals AND Bob shut em down. Leaf fans can’t admit the first part and act like the Cats were dog shit and can’t handle being told it wasn’t all Bob. Cause if it’s just Bob (which is funny considering all the crying they did about Bennett, Gudas, Tkachuk, Cousins and Lomberg) then their forwards didn’t fold.
They scored 12 goals in regulation against the Leafs lol. Really not all that impressive. It was all Bobrovsky.

By contrast, Vegas worked the puck down low and nearly all of their goals were point-blank. That was indeed the difference.
Might be time to just admit you never watched the series bud.

Im sure that’s what the goal posts will be shifted to.

Yes his checks notes, 0 goals and 5 assists were outstanding. I especially liked how after a very good first game you never noticed him at all other than after the whistle scrums.

You stop spitting those facts! Now! No the leafs overpowered the Panthers unlike Vegas. You should know that shots from the perimeter by butter soft players is much better than point blank chances!

kinda looks like you were the one that shited the goal posts.

tkachuk is the only player on either team to go ppg in that series. not at all a stretch to say he was the best player. besides there is more to a player than points. tkachuk was the engine that led the panthers to the finals.

Why would I be upset! I watched your fans cheer we want florida and then I got to watch the video of them walking with their heads down as the TVs shut off in game 5 LMAO. Then on top of it you guys cried about the meanie heads on our team and how Gudas was a cheater. Like I said, losers make excuses and guess who’s making the excuses.

Well it worked out pretty good for me last season ( at least for the regular season ) so I'll repeat my prediction for the upcoming season:

Final Standings for the Atlantic Division

1 - Boston
2 to 8 -

Don’t feel too special they also chanted we want boston. How dare the leafs actually have a fan base. Let alone a passionate one.

You're the one who doesn't actually watch the series because your head is buried in statistics.

Not that you would know much about championship hockey anyway.

You should know that shots from the perimeter by butter soft players is much better than point blank chances!
Yep, give it a couple of weeks and it will be Leafs who intimidated the Panthers.

I literally watched every game. I also watched the leafs out chance Florida and lose. That’s how it goes sometimes. I don’t understand how this is so hard for you guys to accept lol. Florida won, it’s not a big deal. There’s literally a team that goes on a deep run like that every other year. Why are you so self conscious about it? The leafs shouldn’t have even been in the second round to begin with IMO. Also, I don’t even think either team played particularly well especially the leafs. That doesn’t change that the leafs didn’t out chance Florida, because they definitely did.

^ this. Was all series. Vs the leafs, and Carolina. Bob was unreal. Those are point blank shots from some of the biggest stars in the game. Perimeter shots though. Never got to the inside lol
