Still feels like the same top 4 as last season, just ordered differently.

There’s nothing about Toronto that says they’re taking a step back.

It’s a bit much to think Boston is going to free fall the 40-45 points needed to drop out of a playoff spot.

I think Florida should be somewhere in the middle of what they were in the last two regular seasons.

Even if Tampa Bay slips another gear, which I don’t expect, I don’t think it’s enough for one of the three promising non-playoff teams (Buffalo, Ottawa, Detroit) to surge past them.

Montreal is a non-factor.

The team and its development coming out of its rebuild is finally at the age where the team should start to be competitive. I called what would happen last year to a tee. Slow start due to turnover and make a push to make the playoffs late and miss. Thats literally exactly what happened.

Take some time and do some research and try and understand the sport a little better before shitting on other teams and fan bases.


Covid hit every team. Look at the results from the past two seasons and the results they had the previous seasons it was a one off in a shortened year. They are the worst team in the division by far. They were not built for success it was a fluke run. Florida is an actual contender.

I feel bad for Detroit fans optimism. No matter how you shake it, they are average to below average on every line except first D pairing. And even there it’s nothing special in a division with a lot of good top pairing D.

Bobrovsky is a terrible goalie overall that can string together good games but it is highly unlikely he can do it for more than 10 based on history.

Peoples reactions are often based on emotions and gut feeling. Yeah the Holl contract is probably gonna be bad but how the hell can anybody say Detroit hasn't improved after adding DeBrincat, Sprong, Gostisbehere, Kostin, Compher etc? They were in the playoff race until the TDL last season and are most likely gonna improve at least to some extent yet people are talking like they're a lock to be a bottom feeder team.

If Yzerman doesn't make the Holl deal i'm sure people would have a very different perception on the Wings off season. But one contract isn't a big deal. Just f***in scratch him if he sucks.

For all the people downplaying Florida here's a little breakdown of their record from last season:

Before the christmas break: 15-16-4
After the break: 27-16-4
Playoffs: 13-8

So that's basically two months of mediocre play and six months of winning hockey following a President's Trophy season. How are many people so convinced that they were just a fluke and are gonna come down this season? Doesn't make any sense to me.
