“@PLeonardNYDN: Callahan second degree MCL sprain out 4-6 weeks, Vigneault says”

WOW. ****.

If we sign this guy to a 6 year deal for 5.5 million I'll be personally picketing outside MSG. I'd like him back(ideally he gets traded at the deadline and then we sign him here in UFA), but not for a penny over 4 years at 5 million or 5 years at 4.5 million, and I don't think he takes either of those deals, so ship him out at the deadline for a 1st+prospect.

“@PLeonardNYDN: Callahan second degree MCL sprain out 4-6 weeks, Vigneault saysâ€

WOW. ****.

Its time for Callahan to go. Its just time to move on, our chance was 2012, they didnt get the job done and these guys arent good enough to get there again. Gotta move on

Not even sure if Drury had this many injuries by the time he was Cally's age.

Callahan is just too fragile. The play he got injured on didn't even look so bad. A long-term contract is absolutely out of the question.

The fact Lundqvist was just signed to a albatross of a contract pretty much ensures Tanksburgh style bull**** will not happen in New York.

And that's a good thing.

Maybe you can personally talk to season ticket holders spending $3000 a year why it's a good thing to lose 55 games a season for four years for the off chance that some 18 year old kids are the second coming of Wayne Gretzky?

Perhaps we can exceed 54 years this time. That's a much more realistic goal than winning the cup. How long before the 1994 chants in visiting arenas begin?

It hurts to see how this season is going so far. 15-16-1. Remember 10 games in people said not to worry because it was early? Its almost midseason now. Can we worry? It really hurts to see the downfall of a few core players and its hard to come to the reality that they might be gone. Callahan, Girardi, Staal, 3 guys who were excellent under Torts and were fan favorites.

This team, as constructed, made the 2nd round of the playoffs last year. Forget changing personnel, the players that we have are capable of so much more. I don't know how much of that is on the coaches and how much on the players, but I'm putting a ton of blame on both right now.

The GM is the only one who needs to be fired currently. That was my point. He has needed to go for a few years, now.

But DAT LIFETIME CONTRACT.

Sigh.

I'm not even mad anymore. I give up on the season.

Now just hoping for a good pick.

"Hey we play the Rangers next."

"Ok sit our starter and back up and grab that kid from high school. Sit all our roster players and call up everyone from the AHL."

"We got this."

"We so got this."

I think his point was singling out a 4th liner as a starting point to fix the team is like clipping someone's toenails when they're having a heart attack.

Well if that's the case, I missed it. lol

Anyway, waiving Moore might a) scare some guys into playing harder b) guilt some other guys into playing harder.

And then, if that doesn't work, let the trading begin.

You know what's really funny?
I'm driving my family 12 hrs and spending $500 for tickets for Penguins game next wk!
Isn't that hilarious ?:(

“@AGrossRecord: AV once again says Rangers do not have personnel right now to play more offensive-minded style of hockey he'd prefer.”

Oh well. Hurts his trade value, especially if he struggles coming back from his injury and plays poorly into the deadline.

Callahan has to go. Get what you can for him, while he still has some value.

Time to pass the torch and find a new captain.

Looks to me like the this year's Rangers are already tuning their coaching staff out.

Seems to me AV and his staff are expecting his square pegs to do round hole things.

There's a point where you have to try to accentuate your players strengths or get rid of them and find players that can play the kind of style you want. Almost impossible to turn over an entire roster in season--expecting good results moving a bunch of them even more unlikely.
