GDT: Pre-season gezame Toronto maple leafs (legendary) vs Montreal Canadiens

Tavares & Nylander looking like they should.
Bunting impressed me big time...he's one of the top 6 LWs imo
Kerfoot, Mikheyev didn't show a lot...disappointing for being regulars. Mikheyev may still be on the move due to his trade request, Kerfoot will 100% be on the team even though I didn't love his showing tonight.
Ho-sang and Robertson showed flashes of promise for a roster spot.
As a guy who loves toughness, Gabriel looked slow and gassed all night. Fight and goal aside he looked like an OHLer, which is hard for me to say as a fan of "black & blue" type guys.
Sandin outplayed Liljegren in this one imo.
Amadio looked serviceable as a call-up caliber player. Dime a dozen type of guy though.

Sandin looked good. Few plays that showed his experience but also has some exciting rushes with the puck. The future is bright.

I think Ho-sang plays for the leafs this season. Last goal wasn’t his fault. Sure he could have buried it vs giving the puck away but the rest of the team did nothing to stop that play.

If Matthews and Marner are selling features to get others to play in Toronto, then that has to bode well for their contracts right? Of which necessitate these signings to begin with.

I'm not the biggest Dubas fan in the world. But I think he's done an alright job with these off season additions to light a bit of a fire.

We'll see if any of it actually works out or not.

I'ma say this this dirt straight out for life sire: We as like marshy and some otha suckas like real I mean treal vets gotta lot to learn bout y'all younger fools like 30's going suckas with young fiend girlfiends like demaiter and all. Like we got young thug girls out here too, I aint's sayint it like that sire, but you know we got BIG respect how y'all SEE THE GAME AND THE PLAYERS. I'm sure marshy and our otha suckas, real vets be like too. We might have young girlfriends... but itts not a problem though. might be a stregngt at times. They hard and difficult suckas at times, but what i is trying to say is like big respect how y'all 30's 25 year old fans see the game and the whole toronto organitaztinon. Its a big thang. We invest hard on this thang, and y'all is reading it hard. We got a lot to learn. Remember always y'alls... if you is over 40 years, you gotta learn bout these ho-sangs. and nylanders etc. Its about the vets. Always, they always the realest killas. But some young foools might surprise yall. Learn bout them. You can learn a lot from a young toronto player or a younger girlfriend too. Not much, but some. Like you is got to listen some times. Even though if it is a younger lady whom is putting you a lot verbal thang for 6 years straight. Learn some and eat it, write a book while it sire. It ai't no thang sire. Its cool.

I keep seeing people mention Gabriel but I was honestly more impressed by Bunting. Even ignoring the goal, he looked pretty solid…I guess it might be a case of low expectations but I’m now cautiously optimistic he could be a steal this season.

Haha most of us just having fun throwing out Gabriels name but yeah Bunting is more on the serious end of matters in that he looks like a lock to be a key part of this roster.

Bunting is doing all the little things and I think he will be a much better for with JT.

His goal was a fluke and a lot of guys made better plays than he did. Throwing a couple of hits and having a fight doesn't really put you on the radar when the rest of the team is skating hard and playing a higher quality game than he is.

Nylander Tavares Muzzin and Bunting impressed.

Sandin had a terrible defensive game. Was on the ice for the 3 man breakaway and the breakaway by Toffoli. He was also knocked of the puck too easily. On the positive side, he was better than Liljegren.
 
If Willie becomes a better player than Marner and/or AM while being a Leafs, isn’t that a good thing?
Not saying Willie is better than them now.
