. Marner has more points in the playoffs over the 5 years. So Marner. Marner play real well this past playoffs set up both line mates for many great chances they simply did not finish.

I am pretty sure, don't get me wrong.... but going on memory, Nylander had the most goals post season last season... and I am talking last season only. Marner has NOT lived up to his contract since signing it.

Fun watching a game with fans in the stands again. 1st game after 2 official camp days, I saw a lot of conditioning issues, some players looked like beer league call ups out there. Gabriel played hunched over and gasping for air almost every shift.
Almost all players had some bad plays and giveaways, but expectations are down for the first game after just 2 days in camp. We dominated the 2nd.
Willy looked pretty amazing out there.

Face it bro, he was not that good last season...'really sucked and never showed up post season' certainly not worth the money he is being paid, clearly you're a super fan of his... me? unless he proves himself to the dollars he is being paid, I am unsold. Cheers.
he does seem to get a lot of points in blowout games and games against teams that are low in the standing. Not often where it's a game changing goal but I could be remembering wrong lol

Lol your the type of poster that keeps me away from here. You parrot others options which are so far off base. He is a superstar. Top 5 in scoring. He has earned his contract. Sucked lol get a grip.
Not good last season 4 in NHL scoring 3 in 5 on 5 points. Yeah he sucked.

I thought our defence overall played well. All pairs looked good with a couple rough moments. Lilly was fantastic with no real glaring errors and when there were small issues, it was mainly caused by Muzzin but he was good too.
Sandin was good as well with Brodie. Hollowell and Kral looked better then expected but obviously need time.
SDA was buzzing and had a few good rushes. Robertson was good. His motor is always on high. Gabriel is fun but should be nowhere near the NHL team.
Nylander was another level.
It's really upsetting seeing Scott get hurt again.

While there’s definitely some things to like, I think you’re all drawing WAY too many conclusions from one preseason game.
Just a word on Gabriel. He seems to be a hot topic here tonight. I don’t think anyone is under the illusion that he’s anything more than a 4th liner. However I cannot stress enough how much a player that brings the elements he does is needed on this team and on the bench.
Anyone who’s commenting he isn’t anything more than an AHL’er and won’t touch the team is going to be very surprised/disappointed because I can almost guarantee you he isn’t getting waived. There was a lot of interest in him in free agency and will be a useful utility player to have for us.

Can you guys keep the Marner praising and bashing in his thread. He didn't even play today.
What I saw with Gabriel is that he doesnt want to stop even if he is gassed. I have not seen him play prior to today, but he plays like that whenever he gets a chance to play, you keep players like that around. He reminds me of Rudy.

What does a "100 point pace season" have to do with anything lol. I guess Gretzky had a "400 point pace season" in 1985?? but guess what he never scored 400 points... forgive me but I'm not following this imaginary statistic

Marner ended up with 67 points last season. And sat out while demanding his 11 million or whatever salary for that. Sh*t the bed in every playoffs. Small, weak, immature, afraid.
This kid robbed MLSE but then again that isn't too hard to do so kudos to him for taking advantage while he had the chance
