I have a feeling we'll see a big Nylander year. I think he's developing a hate to lose mentality as time goes on. He's said it in pressers and taking a pre-season game seriously enough is a good sign.

Nylander has found out how to play in the NHL maintaining self-preservation and production. His aversion to contact is less noticeable now. He could be a better player if he stuck his nose into dangerous areas selectively but his career would be potentially shorter as well. Marner used to be noticeably better in this respect but he's now into the self-preservation as well although that is a result of taking some punishment. However Marner is still much braver in his style of play than Nylander and I believe that's one of the ways Marner is considered at another level. Nylander will be playing in 40's like his dad, Marner will break down from the accumulation of injuries over his career. I've been marvelling at Nylander's shooting since he was a teenager. I believe he's going to pot 40-50 in a season soon.

Idk if this was posted, but it definitely reaffirms the fact that Liljegren (and Muzzin) was amazing last game. Especially since they faced the only NHL line the Habs had virtually all game.
It is just one preseason game and I'd like to see him keep it up, but that was Liljegren dominating like he does in the AHL. Game moving at his speed, always in the right spot, fantastic in transition, using his body to seperate guys from the puck.
Willy will centre 3rd line with Kerfoot and either Mik/Wayner you heard it here 1st ..
Muzzy was best player on ice either team BY FAR ..
Lilly outplayed Sandin BY a considerable amount .. Sandin again showed he does not have NHL speed .. skill is world class but his stride is STILL WAY TOO SHORT (no improvement on his biggest weakness over summer - sad)

If Ho-Sang makes the team, he could be tried in Nylander's place on Tavares' line.
Sandin's got the strut, the vision and the puck skills to play. He is going to need to play safer to protect himself from getting out of position on the ice. Unlike other young defenders with strong legs, he doesn't have the foot speed to recover his micro-mistakes.
Like Bracco proved you need NHL foot speed to play NHL hockey in an up/down fast game .. Bracco had more skill in his baby finger then most Leafs but his stride was TOO short .. I like Sandin but he still coming in last in every full speed skating drill whether on Marlies or Leafs goal line to goal line .. at this point in his career he MAY bust
Amadio, like I thought, is showing far better than everyone thought at camp .. I have heard from a couple people there he is playing outstanding .. HoSang is not gonna make it .. maybe Mike will get an EX shot with JT and Bunting I think it could work out far better than most think
