The penalty sucked sure. That goal was just as much on Ho-Sang and Brodie.

Fair, but the expectations have to be fairly high for Sandin. This is a guy who has to earn his job and is competing with Liljegren specifically, who has looked better than him today and has the advantage of being a RD. Sandin would be forcing Dermott to play on his off-side, which is not necessarily an obstacle but one that may give Liljegren or even Menell an edge if everything else is equal.

The issues he has had in this game are the same ones that made him look like an AHLer in the NHL last year and arguably cost us a playoff series against the Habs. He has to show he is better than he has been today if he expects to win a job, because Liljegren is definitely bringing it and Menell very well could as well.
