The idea that the NHL could collectively agree and "decide" how they want it to go doesn't stand up to even the smallest level of scrutiny.

Conspiracy theories fall apart under their own weight due to the amount of people required to be involved. Take off the tinfoil.

to be honest it only takes who ever is in that room doing the actual lottery. Bettman, Daly and one other person maybe :P

The NHL has already proven themselves to be a colluding, manipulative "old boys" club. I don't think they decide on who gets the actual picks but I would imagine that they have an "optimal outcome" in mind and would be quite capable of manipulating the situation towards their desired end.

All this new video review ******** is an example of how they are getting their greasy fingers into every aspect of the game. They can now "manage" games from a comfortable distance, affecting the outcome of seasons. CBJ comes back from 3-0 against the hawks?? You're damned straight I'm covering myself in tinfoil.

I'm gonna..
What a great day. We lock up the 3rd seed, Brock Boeser gets 4 points in the championship game and is the best player on the ice, and Boston misses the playoffs.

Hasn't benson been disappointing?

ISS doesn't have Fabbro ranked in the top 30. He could be a good get at 33

I can't fault the tank fans for their beliefs and hopes, after all, we're all super optimistic for our teams chances, no matter what the situation is.

So far our during our tank:

1.) We have a slightly higher chance to MAYBE get a player that could MAYBE contribute to rebuilding our franchise. We have a slightly better then 10 percent chance for each pick to make it into the top two, slightly better for our third overall position, but have almost a two fifths chance of picking fifth.

2.) In addition to alienating our current franchise players, there are rumours that now our top propsects/young players and management aren't getting along.

3.) We've alienated the, uhm, "fairweather fans". This sounds great, but management has come out and said they're interpreting that as the fans aren't willing to support a rebuild, and we will then be forced to sit though at least an offseason, if not another season of, focusing on the playoffs, trading youth for attempted short cuts, and a lot of built up goodwill being tossed out.

My heart wants me to be happy we've got slightly better odds in the lottery. I want Matthews. My head has me very, very, very worried about the future of this franchise after this season.

Benson has been injury riddled, if he gets healthy he could be a steal

He's a beast on the forecheck and has some high end hockey skills. Definitely grab him 33rd if he's there.

In a perfect world...

Matthews/Laine
Bean (Edler trade)
Benson

I would be so happy.

Boston's situation was kinda unfortunate. They were very much in control of their playoff ticket until the last stretch.

I saw what appeared to be a Leafs fan gloating on their board in the most obnoxious way possible, of course he was readily killed (or given infraction, i don't know).

Patrik Laine had two more goals today in the Liiga playoffs.

7 goals in his last 6 playoff games.
