Imagine if we didn't somehow sweep California.. Or got a few more regulation losses than loser points.... We'd have an almost 50% chance at staying top 3 
Pretty crazy when looking back at it all.
Can't believe we had like 20 tank threads
The team's tankability during that stretch deserves all the tank threads.
In the last two months we had maybe 4-5 bad tank nights, every other nights were unbelievably tanky.

I'm happy with 28th... honestly our team isn't as bad as Toronto or Edmonton

the NHL is gonna rig the draft lottery...oilers will slide to 4th and draft chychurn..we will stay in the same place or jump up with some other team! the whole point of this rule change with the lottery was to stop the oilers from tanking and proving someone can jump up. I highly doubt more then 1 team jumps up to the top 3. Chychurn still helps the oilers which works well with the NHL idea of bringing edmonton back to its glory days. I guarantee it...Oilers fans will complain but everyone will say "hey you guys got enough good young players blah blah blah etc" matthews will probably go to the leafs. Us getting one of the finns to play the wing with the sedins makes to much sense

The NHL decides who gets what pick and then some shill comes on the tube and creates some faux suspense by announcing the teams in reverse order.
Can't believe anything anymore. If it was a true lottery, they would do the draw live on tv with one of them there cool bally type mochines.

I get the feeling if we're picking top 5 Benning and Co. will take one of Matthews, Laine, Puljujarvi, Chychrun or Tkachuk. If the team falls to 6th, I'm unsure whether they go with Dubois or one of the defensemen. Personally, I'd have Dubois ahead of Tkachuk but I just get this feeling Benning and Co have him behind the others.

Very exciting we can still get 1 of Laine or Matthews. Border line playoff team next year maybe.
It would make for poor TV since it works more like a raffle with a number being generated and then you have to check to see which team had that number. Not as good for suspense as the way they do it.

No, we have to hold onto a top 3 pick after the draft lottery before we can start saying we'll get a fin or Matthews. Don't have a top 3 pick yet, hopefully, we need it.
The idea that the NHL could collectively agree and "decide" how they want it to go doesn't stand up to even the smallest level of scrutiny.
Conspiracy theories fall apart under their own weight due to the amount of people required to be involved. Take off the tinfoil.
yeah we're more likely to draft 5th than we are to be in the top-3.
