Yeah, I still don't get the scout love for him. Sure, he throws really hard, but he also can't throw strikes and doesn't strike anyone out. That's about the worst combination possible. The groundballs are nice, I guess.

I think at the start of next season you have him as a starter and then if he continues to falter you would put him in the pen.

On another note, DJ Davis is on quite a streak. In the second half his OPS is .798.

Maximo Castillo is an interesting prospect. Plays for Bluefield. He's 18 and will be 19 in May. Good strikeout rate. WHIP is a bit high but has pitched better recently.

Pitching today. 5 innings 3 hits 8 SO and no walks.

Maximo is one of my favorites.

Bluefield has a lot of interesting guys who could eventually be top 10 prospects in the organization.

A lot of guys on the Bluefield roster are good enough to be in Vancouver or Lansing right now.

Might see some late promotions. Lansing's team kind of sucks right now. Maybe demote some and promote some on Vancouver.

Pearson 3 innings and 6 k's. One walk and not hits. Nem you got to see him on a good outing.

No I didn't. I couldn't get tickets today. I had tickets for yesterday and I have for tomorrow. So I get to see the games around Pearson's start, but missed today (and it was sold out by the time I found out he was pitching today)

I still have 2 games after tomorrow's, so maybe I'll luck out and get a Pearson start later on.

My bad. Got confused obviously.

So does Zeuch suck?

Haha I know its early but his season has been extremely disapointing especially considering hes already 22.

"already 22" = 21 for 3/4 of the season, 1/2 of which he was injured for. He was running a 3.21 FIP before being injured as a 21 year old who skipped Lansing and went straight to Dunedin.

Ok 21 in single A
A guy who also came from college

I was expecting more from a first rounder

Hopefully the injury you bring up is the reason for his underwhelming performance

Does the amount of hits hes given up or his mediocre strikeout rate concern you?

Borucki started the season as a 23 year old at the same level and scouts are starting to reevaluate him. Zeuch was one of those rawish, projectable arms as a young junior in college. 6'7, plus fastball, average secondaries, elite groundball profile? The season has been pretty respectable despite whatever underwhelming performance you speak of (which I assume is his most recent rehab start(s), or his strikeout rate).

No, and that's mostly because they could be working on different things, focusing on throwing certain pitches in certain counts, refining his secondaries, etc etc.

I'm talking about his overall 90 innings pitched in the minors.

A ton of hits given up and mediocre strikeout rate.

Ya thats true.
I guess I was just expecting him to be a little more refined at this point.
Maybe it has been injuries or totally focusing on developing certain pitchs.

And with regards to the hits, that could be reflective of the high groundball rate and lack of infield defence in the minors.
