You would have ripped on Harper too when he had a bad stretch.
Shaner is the most reactive poster on this board. Matthews misses a pass, he will go nuts about how garbage he is as well as the team in the GDTs.

Where's the 4 seamer today? He's basically stopped throwing change ups this year and threw almost all cutters and sliders, which are almost the same pitch for him right now with very little velocity variation (86-91mph).
Hey guys, going to T.O this weekend and was wondering if there was a Facebook ticket exchange group or something. Someone in the TFC thread gave me one for TFC and I would be interested in getting Jays ticket the same way. Thanks!
He's on track for 100 RBI.
and it took all these years to beat the selfish walk-taking out of Votto so that he'd start swinging the bat like a run-producer like Dusty Baker wanted. We can't have him going back to being worried about his precious OBP like some kind of nerd when he could be hitting dingers and driving in runs like a real man.

Guess Buster Olney has a real hate on for Jose Bautista?

Ben Cherington understands the inner workings of a baseball front office. His wide-ranging experience in the game includes a stint as Red Sox GM, and he’s now Toronto’s VP of baseball operations. Yesterday, he was asked about the leadership roles within that realm.
“Front offices are teams of people,” Cherington said at Saber Seminar. “You’re trying to put together a team of people that can work together effectively and efficiently to make decisions that produce results.
“For efficiency’s sake, it often helps to have someone with a title that means they’re the leader of that department, whether it’s GM or president of baseball ops. They’re the public face of the decisions, and they’re probably taking on a bigger burden for communicating the vision of the department. In a lot of cases, they are facilitating conversation within the department. But there’s a lot of work going on without the GM in the room.
“In the week leading up to the deadline, there were things we were working on, and even things that we executed, that Ross (Atkins) was involved in, and overseeing, but other people were doing the work — even communicating with other teams. It’s very much a team effort… with the leader playing a critical role.”
I thought so too... he will have a very easy job finding a DH/1B job.
Mariners, Indians, Jays, Red Sox, A's, O's, Rangers, Tigers and Angels have their DH locked up.
Leaves the Yankees, Royals, Rays, Twins, Astros, and White Sox.
Indians, Mariners, Red Sox, A's, Royals, and Astros wont have a 1B.
That's at least 12 positions available and if some teams view him as an OF then that is even more. Bautista is 35th in wRC+ among all 1Bs and DHs... So 45 jobs and he is 35th... he is worth a gamble for some team. If he doesnt have to worry about defense then his numbers playing 1B or just DHing might improve on that.
Bautista will have a very easy job finding a 1B/DH job and if he is getting 5M or less then he could go to a good team like Boston or Cleveland. Bautista is on pace for an Adam Lind-like season from 2016... Lind was -0.6 WAR player last year and got 1.5M on a contending team as a bench player. Bautista has more recent success, a better resume and would likely be signing for a bigger role. He could get around 5M and if the Jays didnt have Pearce or Morales under contract i would be all over it.
I wouldn't sign Jose at all and I sincerely doubt there would be much interest in him next year. He is on the decline and that will continue over to next year.
Well the argument is that Olney thinks Bautista "would be fortunate to get a minor league contract next year" - all i am saying is based on need, past markets and the player i bet he gets more than a minor league deal.
I wouldnt say 10 teams would line up for him just that there would be interest re: a major league contract. I bet there are at least 3-5 teams interested in him as a 1B/DH and it only takes one to sign him. Even after his substandard 2016 season the Indians and Rays were after him and willing to lose a 2nd and 1st round pick for him respectively while paying him 15M+ per.
All i am saying is that there will be a market for him.
Sorry my bad. Didn't hear what Olney said. I agree I think there would be a few teams interested in a one year deal with a lower salary. He should get more than a minor league contract. IMO Blue Jays would be best to let him go.

He's got a real issue with the Blue Jays for some reason.Guess Buster Olney has a real hate on for Jose Bautista?
