How I feel thinking about the Jets this season.

But on the bright side, looks like it'll be a good draft pick.

Post-game audio:

Nikolaj Ehlers.

Coach Maurice scrum topics: On where the game turned. What did they do better as the game wore on? Thoughts on the penalty kill. On the good things from the game. How does a team develop a "killer instinct"? What did he think of Ville Heinola? What went into changing the D pairs between the pre-game warm up and the start of the game. Is he happy with how the team reacts to getting scored against? How would he assess the penalty kill as compared to Tuesday night?

It was a good way to lose !!! -- I thought the Jet's had the better of the play for the most part and especially in the first period.

Difference was the Islanders goalkeeper only let one by him. The only thing I can see is we're missing that big shot from the point from Buff, Trouba or Myers -- and it's starting to show up. Usually on average we got a goal or so per game from the defenseman last year.

Jet's played well though , and Helle made some great saves. We still are a couple of pieces away on our back end right now.

All in all --good effort from the Jets -- I enjoyed the game.

Myers’ shot is a muffin.

Maurice and special teams coaches have effectively coached that possibility out of his game.
When I watch Washington play, they actually move around quite a bit to create options. There is no creativity in our PP1. No movement. That is 100% on coaching staff.
And laine is actually open a lot. I wish I could be bothered to screen shot some of the plays. Everything goes to wheeler who then sends a soft twister into the crest of the goalie or gets double teamed.

we need to get the puck to Laine better.

replace wheeler with Ehlers both in pp and 5x5.

How is Maurice so blind to their strengths?

I guess you didn't pay attention when he shot ?? He had a great accurate shot from the point, and was right up there in scoring for Jet's defenseman --"all the time"

I can understand if you didn't like him --but really--call it like it is, or what it was.

Why not experiment with five forwards on PP1? Ehlers for Morrissey.

Totally. The PP really can’t go through Wheeler anymore. He can still be an effective player but having him as the puck handler at all times REALLY accentuates his flaws. He can’t handle the puck with any sort of traffic anymore.
