We rope-a-doped the Sens to win the game. That was the plan all along, am I right?

Niku can't possible be in the lineup for the next game....can he?

Stanley with only 6 minutes of ice time??

Wheeler and Scheif still played too much at 21 and 22 min respectively. Need to bring that down a little.

Oh don't worry, I get my fair share of shame from my family every time this happens, haha. Of course, that won't change my opinion. I will remain strong!

If you think I'm insufferable here, I was at the game where Little scored against Calgary with like 3 seconds left to tie the game. About 20 in my section had left early to beat the traffic, and the look on their faces as they tried to slink back into their chairs anonymously, well.. I made sure they were welcomed back very warmly. Usher in my section was laughing her ass off. Good times.

Whether or not one ignores or not, the fact remains that actively cheering for the team's failure belongs in the Tank Thread, not the GDT threads. You don't go that far, I don't think, but let's not kid ourselves that it hasn't been a problem before and won't continue to be a problem this year.

And if someone says the game is over, and the team comes back to win, they should take their Grinning Chevy roast in stride :P
It’s nice they won. Makes me happy. Nice finish by the pigeon ! But I do think this team has problems. That doesn’t make me happy. On the contrary

Been a fan since my dad took me to the old barn to see Bobby, Ulf and Anders. Also shed a tear when they left. Born and raised in Wpg but moved 20 yrs ago for work.

Maybe it’s a good time we listen more and talk less these days. Sorry if I was pissed off and fired off at some of you guys. We are all fans. Hope you guys are well and stay safe

He has had slow as molasses Perrault stuck to him and that kills a lot of the play. I also like a lot of what he has down, very subtle in a lot of ways but he is effective at breaking things up and keeping things moving. Perfetti has a lot of similar traits, I am hoping that Stastny is around to mentor him.

Agree, he’s been very good, all over the ice. And he runs a ton of stealth interference that frees up his wingers with space — should help Laine once he’s back.

How much of that time was in the 3rd and OT?

Stanley was actually on the ice for around 20 minutes he just spent 14 of them so far out of frame you didn't notice. ;)

Not sure if I can find the breakdown on ice time by period. With that said overtime was only a few minutes and I thought both Scheif and Wheeler had around 3 - 4 minutes too much icetime.
Pretty sure they saw a LOT of time later in the game.
KC played over 21 minutes as well...did he play too much?
20-21 minutes is where you can expect to see Scheif's ice time most nights.

I hear ya, I mean.. we're now ten months deep into a global pandemic. We're all on edge in many ways in life. This aggravating franchise is but the straw that stirs the drink. In the end, as long as we've all got our hearts pointed the right way, the mods will make sure shit stays more or less sane. Sometimes, the boys are gonna fight and the mods gotta let 'em punch each other out a bit :P

Welp, that was a game.

Good on PoMo for finally registering Alpha's hypnotic suggestion/ PGT screed and pulling the goalie

I had the cat resting between my shins on the recliner and I told the good lady to come over because if they didn't pull the goalie on that stoppage I was gonna go ape shit. As it is, I had to do muffle myself on the GWG because the last thing I needed was sixteen claws to the calf muscle. Amazing how much more restrained one can be when an animal packing razor blades who startles easily is nestled around a sensitive area.

What I am really liking is the current PP formation. They haven't been lighting the lamp but they are creating a lot of different looks and quality chances.

I really like the interplay between Conner and Morrissey up top, they have generated a number of good one timer and other shooting chances.

The down low combination of Scheifele, Wheeler and Stastny is also causing a lot of issues for the opposition PKers and have created a number of different looks. Scheifele being a threat to walk in and shoot forces teams to play him tight which opens up the down low plays. The only thing is we need a better finisher then Stastny in that spot. Could be an option for Perfetti down the line.

SORRY but this is such BS. Cesspool ? Cmon man. If I, and others, are not happy with the teams play and direction we can voice that opinion.

Of course you can - personally, I think it's to the extreme some nights - more so lately - and quick scan of the GDT will support that.
It's not BS - you just have to go back and read the thread.

It's interesting to see some of the reaction thought - people are seriously pissed off because I decided to call it out. Yet I, and others, had to wade through the GDT and the overly repetitive negative posts calling out the same stuff, over and over again without any sort of discussion potential. So to drive a little discussion, I called it out - at least now we're discussing something - right? Besides, I think the Jet's need a little lovin' tonight :DD

It's not big deal - I take it back - carry on.

I have to say that Stanley has shocked me with his play. I was expecting to see a bit of a pylon out there but he’s been quite decent.
It looks like all the work he’s put in is starting to pay off.
Next up, Ville Heinola!

Need to see if he can handle more minutes, he's being heavily sheltered but so far so good. If he can be a big mean physical bottom pairing dmen then it adds another wrinkle to our dcore. He was making better reads on his breakouts tonight and if he can add competent breakout ability to some snarl then good.

Anyhow I expect that we start to see players settle in play more consistently in the next couple of games now that they have three under their belt. I also expect that the team starts to become more cohesive as well moving forward.

Isn't the 3rd pairing always a little sheltered? He looks like he could fit anywhere between being the 6th or 7th D which is a win considering how I like @Mud Turtle expected him to be a pylon and for his nhl stay to be very shortlived. Will be interesting who is our 7th D is who will compete with Poolman this season once we have Demelo and Poolman back considering you rarely have all 6 guys healthy.
