Anyhow I expect that we start to see players settle in play more consistently in the next couple of games now that they have three under their belt. I also expect that the team starts to become more cohesive as well moving forward.

We are seeing some of that now - regardless of what the over all game looked like - it is consistency that is missing and that should come with more games. I don't care as much about why we are slow coming out of the gate - I'm more interested in seeing evidence that we can be a lot better -

On the Sens broadcast they called Logan Stanley- "Logan Paul"

Logan Stanley is here to stay. It’s a sign. :thumbu:

What I am really liking is the current PP formation. They haven't been lighting the lamp but they are creating a lot of different looks and quality chances.

I really like the interplay between Conner and Morrissey up top, they have generated a number of good one timer and other shooting chances.

The down low combination of Scheifele, Wheeler and Stastny is also causing a lot of issues for the opposition PKers and have created a number of different looks. Scheifele being a threat to walk in and shoot forces teams to play him tight which opens up the down low plays. The only thing is we need a better finisher then Stastny in that spot. Could be an option for Perfetti down the line.

Looks like coach Lowry is moving closer and closer to the setup I`ve wanted to see for a long time -and I think he`s nearly there. Waiting to see it with with Laine and Connor, each on their offside , centered by Scheifele, with Wheeler down low at net front/side, and with Morrissey back patrolling the blueline .So many differing options to attack, utilizing the special one-timer finishing skills of Connor and Laine. This assumes that the coaches will surely NOT return Wheeler to the halfwall when Laine is healthy again!!!:DD

Isn't the 3rd pairing always a little sheltered? He looks like he could fit anywhere between being the 6th or 7th D which is a win considering how I like @Mud Turtle expected him to be a pylon and for his nhl stay to be very shortlived. Will be interesting who is our 7th D is who will compete with Poolman this season once we have Demelo and Poolman back considering you rarely have all 6 guys healthy.

Sure it is but he got 6 minutes tonight when usually the third pair gets around 15 to 17 per game. That's what I meant, we need to see if he can take a regular third paring shift.

I so hope they stick with this set up and slot Laine in over Stastney just as you've both described it -
Once they settle in the O zone, they are tossing it around really well and having 2 great shots on the walls, Scheif between the dots and Wheels around the net, this group will be deadly - I have no doubt.

One of Maurice's warts is that, when the team isn't performing well, he goes to his "tried and tested" guys, when those guys are usually the reason the team isn't performing well in the first place.

I really liked Wheeler attacking the net from down low. Really opened up the guys on the back end as the Sens had to cheat down low

When you think about it, it should have been the obvious move - flipping wheels and KC
Wheels is going to be a better net presence with his ability to drive hard into traffic and KC will add a shot and better possession along the wall on his off wing.

Didn't deserve that win. Ehlers really poor throughout. To Pauls credit it felt like getting CSW back together shifted the game. Connor is an absolute beast and most consistent performer in the first three games. Team still doesn't look in sync but hopefully they get there soon.

Agreed, although they came through tonight when it mattered but yes he loves running his horses into the ground. Hopefully we get more team cohesion moving forward so that we can give everyone a regular shift.

Now we just need to see him take over the PK, that still looks like a passive mess.
