Post-Game Talk: Poor discipline and poor reffing is a bad combination

The league should consider adding an "illegal defense" minor penalty for the 1-3-1. What a shit-tacular game watching a team not even send 1 of their players in on the forecheck or even into their attacking end when the opposing team has the puck. We should just pass the puck around in our end and have our forwards skate circles and then lob the puck into their zone rinse and repeat.
No joke. Just pass it around in the d zone until the kings push.

Get a one goal lead and don’t move the puck up until the pressure comes.

1-3-1 will get solved right away. Not sure why more coaches don’t do this.

The fans booing the oilers not moving up quickly was hilarious. Just a dumb fan base

The people who actually think Bettman is telling his refs to screw over certain teams because he wants big market american teams in the finals should be embarrassed for themselves. I also say this to my fellow leafs fans whenever they claim the Leafs are being screwed.
While I 100% agree, these kinds of comments should stay on your own team's board. Going out of your way to preach to another fanbase's on their board about something that happens on your own board is just trolling.

Who pays Nurse’s 9m per season? The opponents, right?

This guy loses games for your team. Clutches defeat from the jaws of victory.

Both overtime goals 100% on him.

This one last night was wild. Got distracted by a shiny coin and forgot his assignment in front.

I sincerely believe you would be up 3-0 in this series if not for him. You’re dominating the play. Refs aren’t the issue. You guys should keep playing that style, it’s effective. Just need basic common sense from your players to avoid easy goals like Nurse keeps conceding.

Hard to win when you’re constantly in the box because of California reffing. I’ll watch if I have nothing else going on but this is just a waste of my time.
I stopped watching after the Desharnais penalty .. and after watching our players miss the net from 10 feet away. (Yama,Ceci,Bouch) ..good ol' rage quit

At the end of the day it's just sports but yes, it has been very hard to watch. Quite frankly the reffing has ruined this series for me. It's no longer fun to watch. I don't know if I'm going to watch the rest of the series the way this has been going.
You know... that's the truth.
5 (?) points separated these teams so LA is deserved everything they get.
Provided it's them putting in the work.

I still refuse to believe the league is rigged but I fully subscribe to the game management theory and that the refs have a script.

I love the Oilers stupidly almost more than anything else! But I can handle them losing.
What makes this ridiculous is what you said. It just isn't fun anymore to watch. Especially knowing they will affect the game somehow.

Get in contact with deleting your account. God knows every oilers fan here lost brain cells after reading garbage from you having the nerve to yap at others for being frustrated with the refs despite you not even watching the game to begin with.

Feel free to complain about what I post

Woke up at 6am London Time--saw it was 3-3 going into overtime
booted up my work computer at 7am--saw the oilers lost and I knew just what everyone would be complaining about without seeing a single moment of the game

If i posted what you just posted aimed at me--I would get infracted by 3 mods right away

Bottom line is this board is too predictable in just who or what they will blame for a loss.

Oscar Wilde wrote "Be anything but boring"

My believe is "Be anything but predictable" this place and posters like you--are just way too predictable.

What borderline penalty have the refs given LA this series that resulted in an Oilers PP? It's been all high sticks and trips, which both teams have been rightfully assessed across the series. Meanwhile, last game alone you have the grey area calls going against Kostin, Ekholm, Draisaitl, and Desharnais. No Kings players have been given a penalty for similar borderline infractions this entire series.

I can't believe Woody isn't livid. This criminal syndicate disguised as professional sports officials need to be investigated. I still vomit watching the horseshit call that was the unsportsmanlike. Like wtf are you doing, this is a playoff series. You can't just handicap a team for 2 minutes because a former Hart winner decided to give an opponent a love tap. The NHL needs to stop selling us on rivalries if they're going to trot out silly men in stripes calling garbage like that.

How is Ekholm behind a king there.

League has made this the instructional video on how to officiate when Connor is playing. Ecstatic of the way the refs brought McDavid down to the level of the other players. That is how you make a truly great league. They were also quite disgusted by Drai’s horrific slash on Doughty, saying it has no place in the game against a great Cali player like that.
It was really the slash heard round the world. My phone was lit up this morning with people wanting to discuss the "slash"

Totally agree, there is no conspiracy by the league and believing this will make your hockey experience significantly worse.
However, refereeing has been hilariously bad this year, and the Oilers have gotten some of the worst of it, at least in the playoffs. I'm not even an Oilers fan, but a mild supporter (Detroit and Ottawa are my teams).
There were 2-3 situations by Kings players that were worse than or at least as bad as similar acts by Oilers which were however not penalized. The high stick in OT was a terrible call as well. I knew immediately that it had hit the blade when watching the game on my TV, and seeing it over and over again on my laptop, I don't know how anyone can doubt that.
That shouldn't be an excuse for Oilers to take bad penalties, though.
