Sonic Frontiers looked good.Am I the only one who thought this looked like complete crap? This is the highest grossing media franchise of all time, they are perfectly capable of making games with decent graphics and innovative gameplay and yet this looks just as barren as Sword and Shield
It looks like it took small steps in getting better. You are right though, these games should be looking much better than they do.Am I the only one who thought this looked like complete crap? I’d buy the shit out of a Let’s Go ShuckleThe crystal tease at the end though, probably nothing but maybe Let's Go Johto
I think we'll still need to wait a little to see how it will affect gameplay. The tera types thing works well for someone like me that likes to collect, but I'm not sure it is a very interesting mechanic in terms of battling. Overall, can't say I've seen anything so far that gets me super excited. We'll see if I end up getting it, so far I'm leaning towards waiting a bit.
I enjoyed it, but it's probably not worth the full price even to me.Is it worth getting Legends of Arecus? I haven’t played that game yet.
This is exactly what I was thinking while watching. It's a cool mechanic and perhaps it even has a chance to flex the Switch's graphics power, like you said, as far as collecting goes, it has a ton of potential especially if I can catch multiples of the same species that have different Tera types. But as for battling, I'm not sure how it plays into... well, anything. Although I would bet the gym leaders of the region will have Teraoasdhglksajhilizing pokemon. The tera types thing works well for someone like me that likes to collect, but I'm not sure it is a very interesting mechanic in terms of battling. Yeah, in the Gardevoir situation I was assuming that it was losing the Psychic/Fairy STAB and replacing it with water, which is honestly not all that useful, and in a lot of cases actually detrimental. But if they are adding a third typing to a Pokemon, that would be different. I wonder in that case if it would only be offensive, or also defensive. That could get pretty complex.I think we'll still need to wait a little to see how it will affect gameplay.
It's sort of like a nerfed protean combined with adaptability, from my understanding. I have absolutely no idea how this mechanic will even work with Protean/Libero/Other type changing abilities.
We don't know either if you lose STAB on your initial types when you Tera, I believe. Like, if you Tera Gardevoir into a water type (seems to be what was in the trailer), does it change its fairy and psychic types moves to water types? Or is it going to learn some new water type move for it to make sense? And if it's the latter, will it still keep STAB on its fairy and psychic type moves (but when it comes to resistances, it's considered a pure water type?).
Guess we'll have to wait and see. But as of now, I can only see it being useful competitively to change to a type with completely different resistances to bait an opponent - such as changing an electric type to a flying type. It's going to be a bit harder to forgo some resistances and additional STAB provided by some dual types, assuming it completely erases original typing. Like, I could see it being useful on something like Dragonite that rarely uses STAB competitively - but it doesn't because they're weak (wingbeat, outrage is fairy fodder).
I enjoyed it, but it's probably not worth the full price even to me.
My guess is we're gonna get the same thing as we got with Dynamax. AKA a Gigantamax equivalent for Terastal. Could definitely see some pokémon change forms. Just speculation though. This is exactly what I was thinking while watching. And the worse is that it seems they're removing several features that were introduced in PLA. :|Yeah, in the Gardevoir situation I was assuming that it was losing the Psychic/Fairy STAB and replacing it with water, which is honestly not all that useful, and in a lot of cases actually detrimental. @Apex Predator I agree with Zaiden, Legends Arceus is a fun game, but at this point I would just wait for the new generation. It really felt like a demo for a full release/ new gen.
Yeah, I would have been happy if they kept the same catch mechanics, it was actually pretty fun in Arceus. Pokemon is really bad for having great mechanics in one game and then just dropping them entirely in the next.My guess is we're gonna get the same thing as we got with Dynamax. EXP screen will be in the battle, and not when back to being able to move your character. Seems the catching mechanics won't be back either (which is one cool thing about PLA that they should have brought back), etc. I wanted them to add more interaction with the environment too. Like, throwing something at a tree to make it shake and cause a pokemon to be curious about it and investigate, or to get scared - basically Assassin's Creed mechanics lol
I enjoy it but it's one of those games that I play for a bit then take a break, get back to it, take a break, etc.Is it worth getting Legends of Arecus? I haven’t played that game yet.
Yeah I loved Megas. Easily the best mechanic they've introduced, other than maybe weather effects, if you count that.I enjoy it but it's one of those games that I play for a bit then take a break, get back to it, take a break, etc.
As someone that hasn't liked a lot of new gimmicks/mechanics, I wish they just continued with mega evolutions.
