You dishonestly moved the goal posts
The team has apparently been the same since 94 meaning that the teams in '98, '12 and '14 are "the same" as the teams from 00-04.
You don't understand how a top player dying is important to a discussion about the NYR not getting a top player.

Jesus. Are we playing "Worst possible hockey opinion" bingo?
He played zero NHL games. He might not have never even if he lived. He was not a Top player. He was a prospect. And one player.

Again, those teams didn’t win anything so it’s not like they are something to crow about.

-You don't understand how a top player dying is important to a discussion started when you complained about the NYR not getting a top player. (This one in particular is laughably inane)
- Having a team that made it to the ECF twice and SCF once is apparently mediocre.

I mean I kind of agree with him, but that line made me laugh out loud:laugh:

I agree... if they can't turn it around they have no one but themselves to blame. No we won't get Dahlin, Svech or Zadina, but if they did their scouting there will still be elite talent available where they pick. And possibly even later in the first
Not sure if there will be elite talent on the d line past pick 10ish. unless you consider smith or wilde having that ceiling?
I really want dobson, bouchard, Hughes or Boqvist.

Ok, go tell the players on the ice to go purposefully lose games. I'm sure they will take well to that

Remember... there are still thousands of fans showing up to watch these guys. They're just doing their jobs
I get that. They are gonna play to win. But it just sucks.

And the guys you can draft in the top of this draft have played zero NHL games. Holy cow how do you honestly not see how awful your arguments are here?

I think ty smith is underrated, he's close to Dobson and Bouchard imo
Wilde has great upside just a lot of questions about him

Did Keith Jones just say if the Rangers finish strong AV will be back?

Or not. Ottawa needs to deal him at the draft otherwise they will lose him for free. He will be traded for scraps to the team EK decided to resign with.
Honestly what do you think it would cost this team in terms of assets to get EK this offseason?

So then why you trying to use Cherepanov as argument then? Cuts both ways. Except the guy at the top of this draft is Nick Lidstrom.

Zibanejad's season is a replay of the last one, looks like a 1C center, injured, sucks for 20-30 games, looks like a 1C again.

Let's pray he gets a brake next season, or, at least, learns to deal better with injuries.

Vesey is awful.

I really want to see a complete, major-injury free season from Zibanejad. It's a hope.
Vesey I think is fine as a bottom liner. He won't rise but I just don't see him as awful the way many do. He needs to move his feet when the team doesn't have possession, especially in the d-zone.

I'm just pissed off now, this is ridiculous. It's very obvious why I brought him up. I literally laid this out. At this point I have to assume you're just f***ing with me.

I get wanting a top prospect, I get wanting to tank. But your actual argument is full of massive holes and I laid out why.

Right now those are lottery tickets. Meaningless unless they actually draft well, which is no guarantee

I know a top pick would help but it is not the end of the world if we don't get that top pick. It is my belief that this thing can be turned around fairly quickly. Gorton did a great job at the deadline getting picks, prospects, and NHL players like Spooner and Namestnikov. All does not hinge on whether we get a top 5 pick.
