This narrative is beyond stupid. Buffalo and Arizona have nothing in common with the Rangers as franchises.
This is why I say that you can't just point at another scenario of another team and use it as a yardstick. I have stated before that the Rangers are a good organization. I think there is lots of supporting evidence, at least, at the very very least as it concerns Buffalo and Arizona, that is as plain as the nose(s) on our face(s).

2011-2014 resulted in zero cups.
Which is a really stupid argument considering one potential top player died, another very good player had his brains scrambled, the team blew a 30G top winger for a massive bust. Yet the team was still competing for a cup which i THOUGHT was your complaint (That they can't compete bc they don't get that top prospect) but sure, let's move the goalposts.

did we pass the islanders yet?
said it if kreider didn't get hurt this team would be right outside a playoff spot. Didn't wanna wish what happened to him on anyone but if maybe he doesn't get the blood clot this team doesn't strip down like they did?
God works in mysterious ways. Yeah, what if? Would we have been buyers? Would McD, JT, Nasher and Grabs still be here? Would we have to shell out tons and be against the cap with a very aging team with little chance for a cup AND with very few kids coming up the pipeline......Yeah, Thank You God, sorry Kreids for your temporary discomfort. You'll get a "C" and that will not stand for a "clot" but a "CUP", not just Captain.

This team is never going to be bad enough to get to draft the players they need to turn this team around. And that sucks.

I guess the 3 first rounders they have+ prospects they received at trade deadline + Chytil and Andersson + cap space couldn't possibly begin to turn things around.

Jesper Fast the unsung hero tonight.

19 corsi for, 6 against.

Quietly on pace for about 32 points over 82 and until a week ago, he gets exactly zero top six opportunities. I'd like to see us experiment with that more as long as we're not in the race. The man is flat-out good at hockey.
Keep Fast with Kreider and Buch

See how Buch performs as the driver of his line

He gets so much shit. He can be on my hockey team any day of the week. dollar for dollar one of our most valuable players.

It’s not stupid at all, it’s the truth. Cherapanov is completely irrelevant to this argument. Being mediocre does nothing to help the rangers build this team.

It feels like to win a cup when we manage to get pts. from a team of helpless penguins this night. :D

Fast is everything people said Callahan was

Good. I don't want to have anything in common with them anyway. And that includes not continually bottoming out for top picks and not being able to break the cycle of continually bottoming ouy
My point is that we wouldn't perpetually be at the bottom of the standings. Those teams can't attract undrafted free agents like Vesey, Pionk and Hayes with regularity. Those teams don't draft quality supporting talent like we do. What we need is a couple of elite players for them to support. No one wants to play for those franchises.
