You need NHL D even during the tank yrs. By the time MTL is looking at trying to be back in the playoffs, he will be in yr 3 or 4 of the contract.

Petry's situation wasnt good, period.

Poehling? Enough with the he was a first rounder. He is 23, has shown almost nothing. His value? Probably a 4th rounder

Savard, Edmundson and Wideman….2 SC champs in there….quite happy that they are there for Guhle, Xhekaj, Harris and Mailloux

I liked Poehling last year… I wouldn’t have given up on him.

I was high on him pre NHL but his hockey IQ is low and the book is out now. He’s a bottom 6F at this stage. Won’t do anything special but could be a solid depth guy from the ages of 25-30.

Pens fan. Matheson had a very good year and has skill that few D men have. He is not Mr shutdown on d but his skating and puck passing is really good. Pens are getting bigger on D and really Poehling can use a change of teams.
