When is a good time to be worried that the third line is gonna do absolutely nothing offensively with kakko and Laff? The top 6 isn't being changed so what do we do?

I hate to say it, but Kakko looks as slow as ever. He can't get himself into the play. Laff has no problem getting himself noticed with his hustle, but Kakko just doesn't have any get up and go. You'd think with the time off, being able to skate and workout in the gym, like he said he has done, he would have shown more giddyap than he has. He's never in the play unless the puck comes to him.

Sure, he can be strong on the puck when cycling down low, but he cannot carry the puck up the ice because he has absolutely no speed. And for the same reason, can't hunt the puck or get in on the forecheck.

It might be time to reevaluate his usefulness.

Rooney doesn't suck. He was fine. On the third goal, he actually blocked the initial shot but the puck bounced back to Staal. It was Fox and Lindgren sucking.

Everyone was. We had a bad period.

Gallant got his dick kicked in by Brind'Amour. All of a sudden, our zone exits were completely gone and every line change was a scoring chance against.

In a series we can readjust.

Rooney doesn't suck. He was fine. On the third goal, he actually blocked the initial shot but the puck bounced back to Staal. It was Fox and Lindgren sucking.

Rooney is so bad at possession this year that he's actually a drag on Reaves. Hard to do.

I mentioned in his player thread that his reads aren't good right now. I don't think he lacks get up and go. He's not anticipating plays and knowing where the puck is going next at the moment.

I'll tell you what you do: CHANGE THE TOP SIX!!

The sanctity with which we're treating this top six is getting annoying. Before Vatrano was moved to that line, Lafreniere had 7 points in 6 games. For everything that's happened since the deadline, Vatrano still only has FOUR more points than Lafreniere does. It shouldn't be an untouchable trio.

This isn't about "let's get Lafreniere's totals padded." This is about the fact that anybody can play on that line. Let's see if Vatrano -who has been legitimately good- can get another line going.

We're rapidly headed back to having two NHL lines and it'll be one if Panarin has a cold snap. That was the whole problem.

The reality of the matter is that GG will not change the top 6.
