All Dead Cap charges are for money the team has paid the player, but has yet to take a cap charge on. So, it's going to hit the books sooner or later.

Yep. The question is just whether you can move it around. It does get more complicated with their preferred contract structure these days because of the different ways they add void years. Same goes for the Browns for example.

Yeah, working around the dead cap hits of players they want to move on from will be a challenge.

But, what I don't want is them bringing back (and paying even more money to) players for the sole purpose of pushing those dead money hits into 2025 and 2026.

Just depends on how much cap space the Eagles want to create. If guys are retiring, there are ways they can help such as I recall Brees did something with his contract just prior to filing his paperwork to retire.
Unused cap space can roll over to the next season, so even if you create more than you use, it can roll over into 2025.

I want Jim Leonhard for DC, Jim Harbaugh for hc, Jay Harbaugh special teams, and frank Reich back for oc, and Lincoln Riley for quarterback coach, make it happen, only coach I keep is stoutland

He could have also just signed CJ GJ. But, the Eagles don't value the LB or S position that much these days. Long time since Dawkins patrolled the middle of the field. Howie is more willing to put the resources into the DL.
Not sure how many times it needs to be said but he offered CJGJ a contract and CJ didn't like the money. He went looking for a bigger contract and nobody could give him one. By that point Howie didn't have money left for CJ and he went to Detroit for his lowly 1 year, $8m deal.

Howie deserves blame for not addressing the LB nor S situation (and giving Bradberry the money he got) but CJGJ declined his offer and Edwards left to play for his childhood favorite team.

Yes, they did.

Last 4 games under Desai:

Getting outgained by KC, but still winning the game somehow (shutout in the 2nd half though tbf).

Getting outgained by Buffalo, but still winning the game somehow.

Getting properly trounced by San Fran.

Getting properly trounced by Dallas.

I remember being super sceptical about the move at the time but understanding that something needed to be done because they couldn't stop a nosebleed for a month.

Those are 4 of the best teams in football though.

The defense was not nearly as bad under JUST Desai as it ended up under the Patricia/Desai disaster.

I also felt like it couldn't get worse at the time, but boy was I wrong. That was a monumental mistake. If anyone ever think about putting Patricia in charge of their defense again, they should be fired immediately.

I’ve seen some sentiment today that Hurts doesn’t want to be a running QB. Has anyone actually reported this or is it just fans inferring out of thin air?
There was a leak last week that Jalen wasnt allowed to run the offense that he wanted to run. I am assuming that people jumped on that and went with he doesn't want to do RPO, which from a longevity standpoint makes sense, but as far as quotes nothing just leaks.

I am curious as to the "offense that Jalen wants to run" considering a lot of his "audibles" seemed to be of the chuck it variety, and RPOs were R's.

Agreed on all accounts. I was even willing to give the defense a bit of an excuse since they played about a million snaps in those games and were visibly tired against San Fran and Dallas.

Still, all I'm saying is that the defense already was starting to fall apart even before Patricia took them over the cliff.

finished watching the game! Instant reaction:

If not all of DC, OC and Siriani are fired i quit watching the eagles! If Hurts doesnt comeback to his former self with a new training staff i will never ever say anything about football in this threads again!

I was wrong with Wentz and if iam also that wrong with Hurts after i doubted him in the beginning i will stay silent forever!

Ive read nothing in here, so maybe they are already gone, but i wanted to explode in realtime!!!!!!!!! :ha::ha::ha::ha::ha::ha::ha::ha::ha:

This is a coaching staff who just doesn't have answers

News outlets may have to walk back the Jason Kelce stuff...

Looks like Kelce isn't for sure retired. Graham also said he didn't tell teammates Jason was finished.

one thing of note is the game was..while not a lot, only 119...we were able to run on you...we can't run the ball at all..so that was one thing that sorta stood out to me
