Howie thinks the back 7 is fine. This is all the first 2 days are telling me. There's no way he expects to fill the holes through the draft, because that's completely unrealistic. Therefore, he thinks there's no/minimal holes.

This will all be fine

Brooks was better, but you’re talking about a top 10 NFL player of the last 25 years for me.

As far as liking, there’s a special spot in my heart for a guy I had as a top 10ish pick that didn’t go anywhere near that. Same deal as Fred Warner.

I’ll give you a David stat since we’re on the subject. There have been a few different versions of something akin to Stops that attempts to quantify defensive players who make specific plays that end Drives. That includes Safeties, Turnovers, 4th Down stops, 3rd Down Stops if the opposition Punted on 4th Down, and things like that. Nick Korte did one that measured from 2011 to 2022. David lead the league with 124. There was only one guy within THIRTY of him. Football Outsiders did one. He was the career leader since 1995.

Just a criminally underrated career.
