The rumor has been for years now that Sweat was unhappy about getting Howied. His extension ended up being hilariously undermarket as was pretty much expected at the time it was signed. No idea if it's true or not, but it hasn't gone away.
So now we could have a new safety, a entirely new defensive line, and a new LB all under a new DC.

This will be fine

Howie. We need some god damn linebackers who are good in coverage, can't keep ignoring the glaring problem

I get what you're saying, but I also lived through Pencil Head and you will not take the joy of having Victor Mick Fangio in my life away from me.

THEY PUT NOLAN SMITH AT MLB THERE IS ONLY UP TO GO.
I feel like Smith is a perfect LB for Fangio, no? So we got that going for us

At this point, I would guess he lines up most as an EDGE. Take the Nickel for example. I'm expecting him at mostly 9T and maybe at that adjustable EDGE slot in Flex.

It was at this point I realized I should probably include pictures. Luckily the best account on Twitter had exactly what I needed. No surprise there.

Didn't he play mostly edge at Georgia anyway?

Georgia is a mess when it comes to these guys. They do it for good reason, but projecting them is harder. He did play on the edge in both 2 and 3 point stances. But he also had heavy run responsibilities. He didn't rush the passer as a first option all that often. I believe PFF had him as the best run defender in the country by grade. It's a weird profile.

I mean...none of this is a bad thing. Dude is capable of a lot. That's step 1 toward success in a Vic Mic scheme

What the fudge are these Jefferson to Cincy rumors? What's the asking price, 4 1sts and 4 2nds? And you need to re-up him and Chase if that happens?

As near as I can tell, it started from a Chase Tweet that said something completely boilerplate like "This is so crazy!" Mike Brown isn't writing that check.

Eagles mention from Breer. :)

"I would like a big cheap WR vet in addition to a draft pick."

While we're here, I very much do not understand Uche having to take 1/3 with bonuses that take it to 1/8. That might be my favorite contract signed so far.
