so..reading about this 9ers not knowing OT...isn't that still similar to the regular season? i mean they still kicked a FG and in the regular season doesn't the other team still get a chance?

In the RS if you score a TD in OT, the game is over. In the playoffs, if you score a TD, other team HAS to score a TD or it's over. So... It could be argued that getting the kickoff in OT allows you to get the first "score and it's over" possession, assuming nobody can stop anybody.

what i am saying/asking is..if they didn't know the PO new rules, but know that in RS the other team still gets a possession if you only get a FG..why then do they kick a FG lol

The thinking is that since you can't win the game with the first possession anyway it's better to kick to the other team, because then you know whether you need a FG or TD to tie/extend the game. Chiefs converted a 4th down on their winning drive. If that is the 1st drive of the OT, they possibly punt there since they don't need the FG yet to extend the game. Then the Niners could have potentially won the game with a FG. You can call a better game and don't 'waste' downs when you already know what you need compared to guessing/hoping what the other team will do with the ball.

Now that's a question for Flatbrim. I don't know what the analytics say here, but yeah, kicking the FG and then giving the ball to Mahomes sets you up for... well, exactly what unfolded yesterday.

To me, both JPJ and Jurgens have the versatility to play either spot. Whatever Stoutland wants works for me.

I thought about Cowing in that Pearsall spot, but Pearsall just feels so much safer.

Feel like he didn't have it the whole year tbh
Healthy mix of shit playcalling and being hurt the last half of the year. The fact they NEVER had a hot route to beat the blitz and they never ran AJB or Smith over the middle down the stretch is asinine. It's like Johnson wanted JH to fail

If I remember what the Chiefs’ said their OT plan was if they gave up a TD first and then scored themselves, they were going to go for 2 and the win. Imagine how dramatic that 2 pt conversation would be. Get it and you’re a genius and have balls of steel; fail it and everyone second guesses you and criticizes you. I wish I’ll see a play like that in my lifetime

It is a new day. As I sit in Philly delayed, my craving for Niners tears has returned. Please, somebody....

I've seen multiple videos/posts about "proof" that it was rigged because the TV graphic showed '1st & 10' and after a 2 yard Mahomes run it's '1st & 10' again.

Problem is, it was actually 2nd & 1 after a 9 yard gain on the previous play and the TV graphic was wrong, which the announcers even acknockledged during the game. Furthermore, you can clearly see the 2nd down marker one yard behind the line to gain in the video too.

But hey, never let facts get in the way of your copium, right?

Sir, the yellow lines on the field clearly showed where the first down marker was.

ELEVEN. I am bereft.

I’m not usually one for the non-freak EDGEs, but Bralen Trice is on that Karlaftis path, isn’t he? We’re overthinking this.
This is why you told me to never have dreams of a player cause somehow they always magically moonshot their draft stock and it's just impossible to draft them.

I'm probably closer to you. I don't really like Trice. I just don't see anything that stands out and makes me go like oh this guy is clearly a 1st rounder. I've seen him sneak into the end of the 1st in some mocks recently. I think I liked Karlaftis better coming out. Probably due to Trevor and Connor always referencing his Chipotle order so it became a meme in my brain.

I just don't really like the EDGE class outside of the top guys, don't want to see Howard reach for one. Chop is probably the cutoff for 1st round EDGE in my mind at the moment. Trice is below that right now, watch him put on a show at the combine now.

PFF moved Elliss up to 36 and Murphy is gaining steam. ALL OF MY GUYS ARE DYING.

I agree with you. I’m pretty comfortable being more interested in whoever is available later rather than specific guys. I definitely don’t know enough about Austin Booker from Kansas yet. I just remember he looked very good against Texas.
