IMO if you're not willing to trade a 1st for Stafford, you might as well just blow up this team and trade Watt and Heyward.

On it's face, Stafford is worth a 1st.
But for the Steelers, that's a dumb move for a couple of reasons:

1. They need their 1st pick to be a homerun so they can build a strong team around a QB, who will surely be neutered by Tomlin
2. Having Stafford will ensure another NHALS for the short term. But it's a myopic move. This team doesn't let it's QB play ball so paying a 1st for any QB on this team is silly. They essentially want a handoff monkey. Gonna pay a premium pick for Stafford to hand the ball off 30 times?

Khan is building the team. He is going to have 60 million dollars in free agency to spend this offseason minimum and more money next offseason. They have drafted 5 o lineman in 2 years. This draft should be minimum 2 DL if they get more picks could see 3 drafted. Khan will be able to get any wr he wants to sign and he can sign a cb2 and NB.

So years ago it was Colbert's fault.
Now it's Khan's fault.

Yet literally 1 man remains from 18 years ago.

I'm sensing a pattern here....

No i am counting khan to continue rebuilding the roster. He has 60 million in cap space. He spent 2 years investing on the o line this year should be dl in the draft. Wr and cb in free agency

You do realize that as long as Tomlin is the HC, they'll never do anything that threatens NHALS, right?
Once Watt and hypothetical Stafford+Kupp are gone it wouldn’t be a choice. The Steelers are going to be projected as the 3rd best team in the division going forward. I wouldn’t be shocked if he willingly left if the only option was a rebuild.

Everything I’ve read said Tomlin is a huge fan of RW, so him coming back and Fields being smart enough to move on seems most likely.

AR2 apparently prefers RW, which makes sense because he’s a man desperate for a playoff win so he stops looking like a total asshole every January.

Fields and Jets rumors seem to be heating up now.

I’d be surprised if Fields comes back to play for a guy that benched him.

Then he watched his replacement totally shit the bed down the stretch.

Fields said all the right stuff in person, but I can only imagine what he was saying to those he was closest to.

If Sanders and Ward are falling to the 10th range or later, I want this team to be trading up to get one of them.
I like them, not sure I love them yet as prospects. I feel like they both should go in the 10-20 range of the draft, but position and team need will bump them up into the top 10. Just too many QB needy teams in the top 10. I can't imagine the Titans, Browns, Giants, Raiders, and Jets all passing on QB.

I am a "best player available" truther, but just looking at more mocks/draft evals, I really feel like DL in round 1 and RB in round 2 should be the move. You still have the potential to get best in class players at those positions with picks 20 and 52 (although it seems DT Mason Graham and RB Ashton Jeanty are consensus top 10 talents at this point).

Kenneth Grant and Walter Nolen seem like the next tier of DT's and are projected to go around pick 20.

One of Omarion Hampton, Judkins, Henderson, or Kaleb Johnson should be there with our 2nd round pick as well. I've said this so many times but pick ~50 really is the sweet spot for RB's and Centers.

Tomlin own mouthpiece Glazer said they were done with RW.
The Jets rumors are to get JF more money. They already have Taylor under contract and are eating a ton of dead money cutting Rodgers. They will draft a Qb to sit behind Taylor. His agent needs to try and get the Steelers offer above 10 million 1 year like Darnold
The Rw stories are from RW camp trying to salvage his future contract elsewhere

Disagree. Go all in on the Watt era and then tear it down to the studs and do a proper rebuild.
If I had any faith in this coaching staff getting the most out of the players, I could maybe be talked into that approach, but I don't. They'd probably still finish with 10 wins, give up 30+ in the playoffs, and all they'd have to show for it is less young talent. I'd rather just keep laying the foundation and hope for some mutual parting of ways with Tomlin in the next couple of years.

Do you think they'd go in about that range if it was 2021 or 2024 or another QB heavy draft?

NFL Draft Buzz has Ward's closest comparison as Nix and Sanders' as Penix, so yeah I'd probably say so.

This draft being thin on QBs may mean they go in the top-5, but they both seem like legitimate picks in the 10-15 range.
