I just love how EVERYBODY is talking about Chip, 2015 and that we finally got him and NOBODY (ESP doesn't count...) is talking about whether he actually is a good fit, whether the contract is too high (or too low), etc.:laugh:

deady posted the following little analysis after it was announced and I agree with it too.

Well, he's a better fit as a backup to Hurts than Minshew.
He's got the athleticism to run the same scheme, though I really wish they'd cut back on the run options or have Hurts pass more and run less out of them.
Teams are keying on Hurts and getting good licks, he's safer scrambling from the pocket where its harder to line him up for hits.

Contract is too low, IMO.

Haha, I wasn't being sarcastic. I actually do love that everybody is talking about the Chip '15 angle. Sh*t is hilarious.

Not much to analyze here. Mariota is athletic enough to run (more or less) the same-ish offense as Hurts, so good fit. 5 million base, 8 max is totally in line with market value for high-end veteran backup QBs. So all good.

This has been my point with Hurt's development, needs less designed runs you are not going to remove the scrambles out of a bad situation, but eventually, it is going to catch up, and the long-term effects he might have a short career.

He's still good. For me, it's just that both are here for multiple years now and this probably takes Corner off the board early.

They're probably loading up for one more year before the Hurts contract kicks in. I get it. It makes sense. They're just going to have to get an awful lot of things right in a short period of time.

If they take Nolan Smith at 10, I'm not complaining at all. I just thought they were in CB position for once.
What if they don't draft for need?

Okay so who understands the NFL Cap? I want to know where they're at re-signing Slay? I was really hoping they'd get CJGJ back, but I fear w/ re-signing Slay pretty much eliminates that.

He's dog shit tbh, lol idk how he even got popular

He's objectively entertaining - and I genuinely agree with him 70% of the time. He's been wrong a lot this week, though.

What if they don't draft for need?

Then it'd seem pretty counter to how they are operating this year, unless of course they take a OL (which is very much how they operate)

From what I understand, Eagles are still very much in on CJGJ even after all the signings.
