The explanation for this appears to be Baltimore having a deal with Slay, but Howie refusing to cut him. Baltimore wouldn’t take the contract, so he’s staying.

Think this may also reflect that Slay wasn't offered enough money to make it worth trying to force the issue.

That's a tough conversion, corners who move to safety have to be able to tackle, but also have to be able to break forward quickly and have the football IQ to recognize what's happening and read a QB.

A lot of CBs are great athletes one on one but can't handle the physical and mental demands of safety.

None in college and not public knowledge if he did have them in the pros. Had an injury his first year and then play most game over the rest of his short career.
