On one hand, I hate this because it means that Hurts is going to get paid even more than we previously thought (and he was obviously going to get PAID).

But on the other hand, if it wasn't Jones & the Giants doing this, it would have been Lamar Jackson probably setting the market.

Basically--Hurts is going to get PAID, which we know, but now it's probably more than we were figuring before.

I still suspect 45 mill per year, but it's all about the guaranteed money I suppose.

Geoff Mosher said:
Sources told ITB that the Eagles were prioritizing keeping Gardner-Johnson, who came the team via trade in August, switched from nickel corner to safety and shared the NFL lead with six interceptions, but Gardner-Johnson’s true value could complicate the contract discussions.

All these teams (via their favorite media guys) basically coming out and signalling that nobody has interest in Lamar makes the league or rather the owners look bad. Just reeks of collusion. I wonder if we will see a lawsuit about that. Lamar would probably even represent himself to double the fun of it.

Hurts will get paid and at a minimum the eagles will lose one of Hargarve/Johnson., Sanders, and others. Its stinks but is what it is.

Saying that the nfc east is having the dumbest offseason of anyone out there
Giants Jones and Barkley are doomed to 9-8
Cowboys franchising Pollard, what are they thinking?
and wash please don't sell the team Snyder!

Pretty sure every other GM in the league went apeshit over the Browns last year and don't want Deshaun Watson's massive FULLY GUARANTEED deal becoming the norm. So I def think there is some level of collusion out there.

Ok, this is probably letting someone else negotiate for them, but who makes sense?

Carolina has to be named in every QB discussion. Washington should be. Atlanta. Detroit. New England would be hilarious? The Raiders?

If you're Howie and you're going to sign Hurts, you probably have to be willing to pay a little more to get him in before this gets finished.

*Edit* I forgot Miami.
The Jets as a dark horse if Rodgers has quietly declined?

Not surprised the Eagles didn't use the franchise tag on anyone. They've used it 5 times in their 100 year history.

I will say, I think the Ravens played this Lamar situation perfectly.

Also, I support the owners/agents colluding on this one against a Deshaun Watson deal happening again. That contract was nuts and should never be repeated.

It isnt the agents colluding though. They would want guaranteed contracts. More money for then.

I'm starting to pay a lot more attention to these OTs because it looks like they're bringing in quite a few for visits. Given the profile of the names I've seen so far, it feels like kicking inside as a Rookie for the guy they do take is on the table.

I've been beating the table for a Lane successor since that second drug suspension. I'm paranoid as heck. If it doesn't get addressed this year then for the love of all that is holy get it done with next year's draft class.

Also I've been thinking about it now since listening to the latest PFF NFL Stock Exchange. Where does the tackle run start? I feel like Howie could do it at 10 but probably Tennessee at 11.

I think you'll get your wish. They liked to be prepped for that. I think it was on the table last year and didn't work out.

How about Chicago at 8/9 after a double trade down?

Is there any chance that Carter makes it to 10?
If teams don't like what they find out from this street racing incident there's a non zero chance that he makes it 10. As opposed to before where he was consensus top 5 at the worst. (factoring in a Bears trade down).
