Foerster with the PP goal:

The mandatory article on the Flyers in today's Inky was on Foerster. TF made the AHL AS team.
Sort of sounds like he's going to be coming up as soon as a spot on RW can be cleared which shouldn't take too much effort by Fletcher.

No rush right now.

JVR, Hayes and Laughton are the only players over 25 in the top 9, you don't want to take PT from the other six.
JVR should be gone by the TDL, Hayes more likely this summer, and Laughton is playing center, which none of the LHV prospect other than Desnoyers can fill.

We'll see if Allison can stay healthy and whether Laczynski can be resurrected, they get first dibs b/c of their age, want to find out now whether they are in the team's future plans.

Right now, the top prospects in LHV are getting plenty of ice time, Lycksell (23), Foerster (20), Brink (21) and Desnoyers (20) are on the top two lines, the PP and the PK. Attard (23), Zamula (22), Hogberg (23), Wylie (23), Ginning (23), all could use more AHL time - none has stood out so far. Other than Attard, they're basically 3rd pair/7th D-man candidates.

Sadly, the Flyers have so f***ing many RWers. If they buy out Hayes, why not have Foerster play center?

Center is more demanding than wing. Doubt Foerster has the speed or hockey IQ to handle the job.

The one player who might be able to transition isn't Foerster but Lycksell, who has the speed and playmaking traits for the job, but not sure he has the hockey IQ to handle it. Center is not only about offense, it's more demanding defensively than wing.

So far, Desnoyers has held up at center, and shown his CHL offensive breakout was no fluke.
We'll see how Gauthier finishes the season at BC.

JOB making a push to get signed, last 5 games, 2-7 9 +6.

Keep that up and he may be a prospect, has the stout body and skating ability, but needs to finish strong offensively to convince anyone he's a middle six player (worthy of a 2nd rd pick).

They'll be holding tryouts the last 20 games or so.
This season, 6 starters are 23 and under. (Frost, Tippett, Farabee, Cates, York, Hart), 2 are 25 (TK, Allison).
Next season, probably another 3-4, with Attard (24) and Lyckell (24) in the running. Gauthier, Foerster, Desnoyers, Andrae, Zamula.
In two years, 12+ starters are likely to be 25 and under.

In two years we'll be exploring what some of these guys return as ufa rentals. We need to stay committed to getting younger

I’m quite certain Foerster’s hockey IQ and passing are better than that of our #1 center prospect.

I know this is a radical concept, but there are many wingers who are smarter than centers. They just play wing for whatever reason. And they don’t need to play center. Fletcher definitely understands that point.

If a guy can handle center, he'll get tried at center, look at Giroux.

B/c centers are harder to find, and you can always move him back to wing (the experience of playing center is good for development, while FO experience is always good for wings).

That's more of a knock on Gautier than a compliment to Foerster. I disagree but I think highly of Gauthier

@Magua Your boy Luke is cooking right now

4 goals for a defenseman?!

The Devils have Jack, Luke, Douglas, Nico, Jesper as the faces of their franchise. The Flyers have Tortorella, and my insides are melting.
