B/c when a young player overdoes the weights, they tend to get stiff and slower.
A good strength program combines weight lifting with exercises to maintain flexibility, and focuses on balanced strengthening.
A well designed program can make some players faster, as it works the legs as well as the upper body.

The fact that York improved his lateral agility after a couple months suggests he over did it - while he needed more upper body strength, it's not something you can do in one summer - most players gradually fill out in their late teens and early 20s.

This is a whole new level of crazy fan fiction. o_O

The other rumor was he was banging watiresses two at a time all summer.

I'll go with the weight lifting.

So, to clarify, you don't have any actual information and you're just making assumptions? Honestly, I'm not trying to be divisive, I'm trying to understand why you keep saying this. I haven't seen anything that indicates this is true.

It's equally as possible that York had an undisclosed nagging injury, or that he had a shitty attitude and believe he was making the team regardless of what happened, or he just made a few uncharacteristic plays in the span of a few games. You can go on and on about what may have happened.

How do some people not understand what he's doing at this point?

Good news on Laczynski, from Charlie's interview with Flahr:

Lacyznski has been week to week since early December with a lower-body injury, but we haven’t seen him since. Is his season at risk? And is this related to his double hip surgeries?

No, it’s not related to the hip surgeries. He’s started skating now briefly, but he’s still a couple of weeks away. So he’ll be back. But yeah, he’s gonna set himself back quite a way. He doesn’t need waivers, so he’ll have to go down (to the AHL) and build himself up back up again, I assume. I thought he was starting to come (around), too, before he got injured. He’s had a tough career. But no, it’s nothing related to the hip.

Sure. What does a guy with a Princeton degree who played for two of the finest minds in college hockey know?

Certainly not as much as someone watching from the stands.

The thought that players being bigger and stronger than their opponents is somehow a detriment is almost comical.

He knows f***-all and his woeful draft record speaks volumes.

College degrees don't means that much. Fletcher went to Harvard and he's dumber than dogshit.

Flahr has repeatedly stated that bulking up and size are his biggest priorities. Skills and ability are way down his list. And the team's actions back up those words.

You don't know shit about the Flyers or the people running them. We do. Do not come in here and condescend to us from your perch of ignorance.
