Attard is soon to be 24 years old. He’s had a good portion of experience; now just short of a year of professional play. The guy has skills-strength, mobility and a hard accurate shot. He has his deficiencies but the club can work them out in time. He can do that in Philly with a coach that will allow him to do what he can and not put him in positions to fail.
Torts did this with Werenski in Columbus. There’s no reason why he can’t do the same thing with Attard. Unless he likes watching TDA crap all over the rink or seeing Braun out there on a cane.

I'm sure Attard is in their plans, but what I've seen from him so far this season, he'd be overwhelmed at the NHL level.
Think it's just a matter of the light going on and defensive fundamentals becoming second nature.
Pittsburgh kept Dumoulin in the AHL for three years after 3 years of college, seemed to have worked out!

I don't think Attard needs that kind of marinating, but I also see no need to rush him until he looks ready.

From what we saw with Attard this last spring, he seemed to be adjusting well to NHL play after a tough first few games. This guy has abilities that the big club could use. If he screws up a bit, so what? It’s not like the other RHD are playing flawless hockey?

The end of last year you had Attard as Provy's partner this year.

He's taken longer to adjust than I expected, sometimes there's "paralysis by analysis," young player starts thinking too much and it slows them down. I think he's going through that, but what often happens is they struggle, then the light goes on, playing "the right way" becomes second nature and they can just play without thinking.

Just like your "unicorn"

I'm not the only one who was in love with Myers.
He's just strange, generally had good metrics but leaked goals on a consistent basis.
And no one (Tenn, TB) has been able to get through to him.

Torts kept attard up after everyone on these boards ragged on him for fighting. Teach em while they're cheap so you don't have to deal with tda not knowing where to be at 6 million a year
I'm sure he'll see some NHL time if they can get something for Braun at the deadline

Errsson 4 goals on 21 shots. Yeah, he's ready for the show.....
Couple pp goals a deflection and so on it was not his fault .

Hershey has way more speed than us and it showed . Our top prospect Forester looked ok but Brink looked slow especially against a team that can skate like that .
.Lycksell looked ok in flashes but disappeared often .
AA looks massive out there so can control the puck and make a good play but his speed for the NHL is behind him .
Attard and Z looked fairly vanilla but Attard makes a lot more mistakes than Z does .

I have not watched a LV game in about a month and wanted to see them play a good team cause evaluating them playing poor teams is a waist of time . We have work to do .

ps In Lappy we trust . lololololol

Brink is coming off hip surgery, so probably won't be full speed for another month or so.

Well, Ratcliffe has really regressed, and Wisdom has struggled a bit.

But sometimes we don't know the details, Hogberg was meh earlier but playing better lately, was he dinged? Zamula seemed to be in a funk, but is now also playing better. Hodgson feel off a cliff, but might have been their best player last season.

Lycksell and Ginning are both playing above expectations, but have a lot of SHL experience.
Foerster has improved as the season progressed.
Attard has struggled, but this may simply be a young defenseman thinking too much as he tries to master fundamentals that aren't second nature yet.

Hodgson never feel off a cliff, he always lived in the valley. Last year he had rode a shooting heater, scoring 19 goals in 46 games. You can call this a regression, but really, last year was just a statistical anomaly. He always sucked.

The front office basically forced him into the lineup for game 1 because they think he’s good! They’re genuine hockey talent evaluation buffoons. We all have misses in our player takes, but this one from the “brain trust” was all kinds of mystifying. Not being able to separate a shooting% bender from a players full body of work is wild to me

Hodgson unfortunately was a flash in a pan last season. I thought he would turn into a Garrett Wilson type player, but I guess not. And even Garrett is not doing well either.......Like the Flyers, the Phantoms are not a fast team.

Marody and Brooks have also been duds. Only 11/12 points in 23/24 games for guys guaranteed to make $400,000/$450,000 this season and next.

Wish I could made $400,000.00 for doing nothin'.........

Both were injured, they've been playing better lately.
They have strong track records at the AHL level so good chance they finish strong, which LHV will need to make the playoffs.

O'Reilly has really fallen off the cliff, with AHL veterans, the 5x5 scoring goes first, and then the PP scoring, b/c when the legs go, it's more obvious at 5x5.

They should change LHV from the Phantoms to the Lemmings.

Brooks is 450 k AHL but 550k guaranteed per year for 2 years . I know this kid well having watched him play growing up and was laughing when we signed him . He is a decent AHL player but "NOT" an NHL player

I don't mind the team mind overpaying in cash for some guys to bolster the AHL team (it's not my money), but you shouldn't end up at 50 or 49 contracts because you signed Hodgson and Marody and Brooks and Connauton to two year deals, and claimed Bellows just to be a healthy scratch.
