Looked up and LHV is now 7-6-1.
Ersson looking like he wants to make life tough for Sandstrom.

Wonder how Ginning is playing, somehow this terrible player is +5 in 13 games. The game I saw he made good outlet passes, so I'm curious to see if he's actually becoming a good defensive defenseman - but unfortunately he's another LHD.

ES scoring:

Foerster 14g 2-2 4
York 14g 1-2 3
Attard 14g 3-2 5
Desnoyers 14g 3-2 5
Cates 11g 3-3 6
Lycksell 8g 1-2 3
Wisdom 14g 0-3 3
Ratcliffe 13g 2-0 2
Ginning 13g 0-2 2

Does anyone know if Laczynski was called up. I do not think he played on Sunday. Considering some of the slop they dress and he was one of the stars of the game on Saturday, I'm not sure why he would sit..oh yeah, Ian

One player to keep an eye on:

Ethan Samson. D+2 season, but very late birthday, won't turn 20 until August, 6'1 181 at 18, so frame to fill out.
RHD #174 in 2021.
First 8 games: 3-6 9 -6
Next 10 games: 3-6 9 +3

His team website now lists him at 6'3" and RD.

That team must have a heck of a PP.

Thornton 21g 3-11 14 PP 4-12 16
Sampson 18 g 1-5 6 PP 5-7 12

Thornton is listed at 5'11 181, wonder if skating is the reason he went undrafted?

A primary contributor on both special teams, a matchup option, and an offensive driver, there wasn’t a scenario where the Winnipeg-born defender wasn’t one of the most competitive players on the ice. Sense-driven give-and-go sequences, two touch wristers blended with precise placements, and crossice layered passes allowed him to cook in the offensive zone -- especially with the man-advantage. -EliteProspects 2022 NHL Draft Guide

Thornton scares me a bit. I don’t question his offensive game. In fact, I think he’s a great passer and a legitimate power play quarterback at this level. The issue that I have with Thornton is that he is very rough defensively. He struggles with decision making at times and it can lead to turnovers in his own end.

Hudson Thornton is an offensive defenceman that registered 45 points in 65 games for the Prince George Cougars this past season. He is at his best when he is in the offensive zone and had some success on the power play leading all Cougars with 17 power play assists. His best skill, however, is his work in the transition game as he can send teammates on breakaways with tape to tape passes on a consistent basis. There is a lot of potential with Thornton as he possesses the attributes needed in the modern-day NHL. Defencemen who can not only jump up in the play with success but also drive the offence are usually looked on favourably by NHL scouts.

He's better off in LHV right now, until they sort out the defense going forward (i.e., trade Provorov).
He really doesn't need to carry Risto around.

Laczynski up as expected,

Ethan Samson in the rookie game that was televised.... man. He had ZERO hockey sense. He's big and it was clear he's a good athlete with a hard shot, but he's absolutely terrible positionally. I'm sure it doesn't matter in junior, same way it didn't matter with Phil Myers, but anyone who seems that obviously out of place to me as far as hockey sense, especially a defenseman, makes me doubt an NHL future. Granted, I had similar questions about Wade Allison, and he improved, but he's also a winger.

4th team this year for Tuomaala.

Maybe it will work out with a few more teams.

On a serious note they signed him to an ELC right away & it’s looking like if they had a do over now they might not have.

That pretty much goes for all of CF's moves. If he could go back in time what are the moves he would still do. My guess is none....

Yeah, but -3.

Look at +/- relative to teammates, often it's driven by goalies.
If we had better stats, we could put it in perspective.
Age matters, but college is better for a top player than the CHL, b/c you play against 19-23 year olds, not 16-20, so it's better preparation for the NHL.

Caufield at Wisconsin
18: 36g 19-17 36 -3
19: 31g 30-22 52 +9

If Gauthier were to stay in college, I'd expect him to be an elite player next season.
But if he scores well over a ppg this season, he'll probably be in Philly in April.

He will not touch Philly this year, not unless a lot of people are fired. Fletcher and Tortorella think that having to play prospects is a problem. They want to get them off the roster as fast as they can. They aren't going to be looking to add more.

Thanks for your explanation, dead.
