Sounds like Tommy Purdeller suffered an injury yesterday against Oshawa. Sounds like he could be out 2-3 weeks.
Keep an eye on Petes bringing in a previous draft pick defenseman… no idea if they’re signing him or not but he’s coming in to skate with the team from what I’ve been told.

Sztuska really struggled yesterday. Gave up 5 goals but could've been a lot more. Any time he was screened, he was rarely able to fight through it and seemed to just be content with hoping the puck hit him through the screen. Luckily for him the Gens missed the net a lot. I have to assume a trade for a backup goalie is coming and soon. If you're hoping to be at the top of the standings, you can't give away points because you don't have an OHL level backup goalie for 4 months
Zanetti? Or are you just basing this lineup off guys who will be back from nhl camps
Who does Zanetti move out of the lineup when he’s back? Guo or maybe they go 7 d and 11 forwards

Easton rye might be an option if sztuska doesn't get his shit together he's looked good in camp and out performed sztuska in camp in my opinion .
rye had a few good games last year but he needs time, i dont get why they signed sztuska if they are ready to bail on him already?
Because theyre ready to win this year and he isnt ready to be relied on for that
They signed him last year before they drafted Rye? They needed a 3rd goalie last year and were hoping he developed and was ready to be the backup this year. Thaet didnt happen. What dont you understand?
and again, why sign him in the first place? why spend 8/10k on a player that isnt good enough? why sign rye now if you already have a goalie that will be your third? its burning money for a small market team. no different then leskovar, why sign him? he was never great in cambridge, he wont make the petes again this year.
you can get third goalies anywhere, guelph was loaning out grimes last year, mississauga is already loaning out kowatsch. you can probably get your guy nixon in a pinch too.

Something’s gotta give in Windsor now with them trading for costanzo. Would think Medina or Downey will be dealt soon
Not sure either are a fit but the Medina to Petes rumours won’t go away… Downey not so sure he’s an upgrade on Sztuska.
Well at this point Medina might be had for free via waivers or a late round pick there clearly isn’t much interest

As Coach Wilson says in the Examiner today, the Petes need to play some games to see what they have but they are definitely going to upgrade if needed. He made a point of referring to not counting on just a few guys to score. We need to see Dezoete, Melee, Dubois and Page score more points. Dezoete in particular looks like a a natural goal-scorer. I liked how Purdeller looked the one time I saw him. Should be a good season. Gotta start strong vs Erie tomorrow.
