Everyone needs to calm down. They deleted a bunch of players and added a bunch of players. This is like the first few weeks of exhibition play. They need ample time to find how to work together with the big shuffle of bodies.

Give it a couple more weeks. I’m sure they will find some flow and consistency. Things will come together. The key will be the 3rs line and the 3rd defence pairing. Their ability to make contributions will be the main deciding factor in the playoffs.
Great comment. Patience is needed this early after the trade deadline. As a Bulldogs fan, I look back at the 2017-18 championship. While we didn’t have a lot of turnover at the deadline, the big acquisition was Robert Thomas and it took a lot of time and line juggling to find chemistry with him. We had a deep top 9 and it was close to the playoffs when things really clicked.

In the Petes case, time and patience is going to be needed for finding proper chemistry and line combos surrounding Othmann (considering he missed a lot of time for Team Canada), Beck, and Hayes. The coaches also need to figure out how to use these players to their strengths so they can be effective on the scoresheet.

What game were you watching? Guelph's checking game was giving the Pete's fits. They deserved the 2 points.
Guelph earned the win no question - their tight-checking was the key. The Petes had more puck possession and outskated the Storm most of the game but that doesn't mean a thing if you can't score or prevent scoring on your own net.

The Petes need to grind it out, keep working hard and most of all the forwards need to keep it simple, take more shots and drive the net.

COACHING COACHING COACHING. Rob Wilson and these assistants are no where near the coaches we need. No excuse to be this weak with this talent. We get outplayed and it seems when we win it’s lucky we do. Time for a real coach if we ever want to be serious about winning.
Whos the real coach then?

I am still a Rob Wilson fan -not panicked yet.
We have had a great power play before and we will have a great one again .

HAM went 6-1-0 after the trade deadline that year. No wonder it was easy to be patient after that "slow" start for you

There’s only one more option and that’s fire Wilson. Will they do it I doubt it but this play can’t continue on

TV off. What a joke

Can’t fire Wilson now because unless they pull off some miracles it’s gonna be one of the assistants taking over and that is even worse

Discipline
Special teams
Chemistry

These are the main problems right now. Let’s hope they can figure it out.

I would say specialty teams is #1. Discipline #2. I think, although losing again! there seems to be better chemistry with the lines. Like Othman with Stillman

I didn’t say anything about the Bulldogs having a slow start. My post was about having patience as the coaches tried to find chemistry for Robert Thomas, who we added at the deadline. Like I said, we had a deep group in our top 9 and had little turnover at the deadline. While other lines ran well, and while Thomas still produced, there was a ton of line juggling and well known chemistry issues surrounding him at the time.

The point of my post was that while we needed patience to find chemistry and maximize production for one big addition, it’s going to take a lot of patience with the Petes after facing changes on a larger scale with the additions of Beck and Hayes, and even still with Othmann, while guys were traded away as well.
