TV off. What a joke

Can’t fire Wilson now because unless they pull off some miracles it’s gonna be one of the assistants taking over and that is even worse
When I watch these games most of the time they show the bench it looks like Wilson saying nothing and Verner doing all the talking. Was it always this way? Has Rob shut up and let someoen else try or has this always been Verners team?

I sit very close to the bench -maybe too close !
I have always sat close to the bench even when it was on the other side -

Anyway Rob Wilson has never really interacted with his players much during the game -Walser seems to be very hands on and Verner talks into his phone a lot (to the other coach) and watches the iPad.

However -Rob Wilson is totally wired into the game -he is fully involved with the game-completely aware of everything including what Verner/Walser are saying to the players.

During Jody Hull’s tenure -Verner seemed to be in charge but not now.

I enjoy this post but I don't take what I read too seriously .The Petes are going through a tough time right now but I am not a believer that the sky is falling. Maybe they will go deep in the playoffs or perhaps go out in the first round, I don't know. People are calling for Wilson to be fired and I can assure you that Wilson will not be fired at this time, sometime down the road maybe because all coaches have a shelf life. To put things in perspective Ottawa lost 4-1 today to Owen Sound, Guelph 6 Kingston 2. It's that time of year when sometimes weaker teams beat good teams. Will Ottawa fire Dave Cameron today? I think not. I think that Wilson is a good coach but I am not betting the farm that the Petes will win the Memorial Cup. There are a lot of variables, injuries, puck bounces etc. Let's relax and what happens will happen, it's beyond our control.

You cant be comparing Ottawa losing 1 game to the Petes getting outplayed by bad teams every single game. Come on dude

Cant just blame it on Othmann when they also brought in Hayes, Beck and White. Team is way too good to not be dominating almost every game
Not blaming Othmann, just pointing out that it's a team game regardless of the individuals on the ice. You now have a new team, it's yet to be seen if they will gel and play as a team.

On paper we are one of the best. In real life, this disconnect is ridiculously frustrating
I don’t think some losses in the first couple of weeks following the trade deadline should be overly concerning; NB lost a couple in a row, so did the ‘67s, the Spits got shellacked by the Gens. If there is a bright side, it is better for the Petes to face the ‘67s in round two than the Battalion imo.

Nobody cares what you think :)

Has to come together eventually. Keep trying new lines until something clicks

Top 3 lines at practice this week:
Othmann-Robertson-Hayes
Avon-Beck-Lockhart
Melee-Dubois-Stillman
Giddy up!
I like what Coach Wilson said about the team needing to be tough to play against especially in their own zone and then create offense from there.
Run and gun isn't working for the team and it sure as hell won't work in the playoffs.

Things are looking up for the Petes draft cupboard as the IceDogs officially sign Gabriel Runco.

The conditional 15th round pick in 2024 that the Petes received in the trade with the IceDogs earlier this season will become an 8th in 2024 in Runco plays 25 more games before the end of next season which seems pretty likely at this point.

Not expecting a home-run with an 8th round pick, but here are some notable 8th rounders picked by the Petes in past seasons...

- 2011 Matt McCartney - energy guy, played parts of 4 seasons with the Petes....actually it's probably closer to parts of 10 seasons he's played with the Petes since he's returned a number of times to sing the national with his band or solo

- 2005 Brett Theberge - 150 total points for the Petes; not quite as good as his Dad, 2nd round pick Greg who had 213 total points, but pretty darn good for an 8th rounder

- 1993 Scott Stephens - NO, not that one! - this guy only played 14 games with the Petes but put up an amazing 359 pts over 4 seasons in the OPJHL (Jr. B).....mostly with the Peterborough Bees. Played one year of pro in the ECHL with the Johnstown Chiefs.

- 1987 Dan Bylsma - never played with the Petes, chose to go on to Bowling Green University and then played 9 seasons in the NHL. He may be kicking himself that he didn't join the Petes with Mike Ricci and win an OHL championship.

- 1986 Jamey Hicks - put up 151 points in a Petes uniform before a trade to Owen Sound where he scored 90 points in his last OHL season. He won an OHL championship with the Petes in 1989.

Until someone shows otherwise and none of the new guys have come close so far, Tucker Robertson is still the most effective player on this team. I like these changes.
Yeah I’m a fan of these line changes. Looks so much more dangerous. Let’s hope it can translate to something positive…

The 6th-8th round picks are great opportunities to take a swing on some American players who may be planning on USHL and NCAA route. Low risk, potential high reward

No Dubois or Zanetti tonight....I'm happy that Purdeller will be getting more ice time though

Penalty from a 3rd pairing D then a 4th line winger in the first 15 minutes of the game. That's the stuff that cant happen if your going to beat good teams. Good kills so they dont hurt
