Well that’s awkward because I’m pretty sure there are prospects and parents who are expecting it this weekend.
The likely reason there is not a Development Camp is because they cannot put ice in the Peterborough Memorial Centre because of the fact the Peterborough Lakers cannot use the old carpet that covers the ice.

There is ice at the Kinsmen -would they have it there ?
I can’t see Walser not knowing about it though

Maybe there is no prospect camp this weekend but there are some prospects coming to be signed?

FYI - I have no knowledge about camp or signings but here are some possibilities......🤞

Joseph Cadorin 4th round pick 2023 priority draft........(07) LW
Liam Ladds 5th round pick 2023 priority draft........(07) LD
Luke Tuin 6th round pick 2022 priority draft........(06) LD with 15 pts in 48g in GOJHL
Nathan Leek 1st round (11th OV pick) 2023 U18 draft........(05) LW with 64 pts in 35g in U18
Brennan Faulkner 1st round (6th OV pick) 2022 U18 draft........(05) C with 57 pts in 48g in GOJHL

I think the idea is to have the players experience the Memorial Centre Ice. The Kinsmen is not great for a training camp format. I attended training camp scrimmages years ago at the Kinsmenband the ice surface seemed small compared to the Memorial Centre. My guess is since they cannot have the Memorial Centre they have decided against holding a prospect camp.

They’re still doing it

Gavin Lock!

Gavin Lock!
If he comes… you can’t let him leave without a contract

I agree with all of those players being signed… although I think Ladds likely needs a year of Jr.B first

Well looks like Walser was wrong… All the expected players there EXCEPT there is NO Gavin Lock which is definitely a bit unfortunate, however it does not mean that the Petes won’t sign him. Either way should be a good camp!

Hopefully Walser can make it… rude of them not to tell him :sarcasm:

Long way for Lock to travel for a rookie camp… I think there’s still a chance we see him at main camp. Wish that Nicholas Petrut kid was coming… he gave me some Adam Timleck vibes.

I just realized that I forgot to post the final attendance numbers for the 2022-2023 Peterborough Petes season. Everything is broken down by individual Regular season and playoff monthly, day of the week, total and combined averages giving a clear look at the successful attendance season the Petes and the Peterborough Memorial Centre had.

The 2022-2023 Regular Season Average was 3221.970588 (3222) and the Playoff average was 3836.090909 (3836) for a combined total season average of 3529.030749 (3529) across 45 home games!

With the Peterborough Petes already near their season ticket member capacity for the 2023-2024 season, it is shaping up to be another successful attendance season which is a very exciting thing.

Note: To effecitively view the entire spreadsheet, slide both up and down as well as side to side to see all of the information on each side as well as down below. Go Petes Go!

Best OHL joke that I heard in a long time:

Petes are playing the London Knights in a potential series winning game. The arena is sold out, but there's an elderly fan wearing a Petes jersey with an empty seat next to him. Another fan asks: " Is anyone going to be sitting in the empty seat next to you ? " " That was my wife's seat," the old timer replies, but she's since passed away." " So sorry to hear that," the other fan replies, but it's kind of a shame that her seat isn't being occupied. Isn't there a friend or other family member who might appreciate being at this game ?
" Probably, the old timer replies, but they're all at her funeral". ;):naughty:

From what I’ve read and seen I would like to see the Petes try to get commitments from:

F - Faulkner, Leek, Frenette, Cadorin
D - Tuin, Ladds, Hartnell
G - Johnston
I would agree this should be the targets. I think Isaac Larmand has an inside chance as well. Was on the U18 Petes team, practiced and travelled with the team full time in the playoffs so there is definitely some familiarity there. Of course we want to find room for Gavin Lock and Nicholas Petrut

Well thank you! I love making this kind of stuff and my intentions with all of it is to really provide as much information about the Petes as possible in a collaborative manner with everyone on hfboards and around the Petes and hockey community. I would like to make spreadseets and other information available similar to how the draft pick database works

What about McCue?

1 point in 33 games… he better show a lot of improvement to commit a roster spot to an 18yo with 33 career games and 1 point
McCue should be in the mix.........I won't base my analysis on the stats you mentioned above.
Many of those 33 games he saw 2 shifts or less.
He has a late birthday - doesn't turn 18 until October.
I agree that he will have to show improvement but with more ice time, I believe he can be a contributor.
He strikes me as the type of player who can play a heavy game and create offense from that style.
I know the Petes won't be in the mix for a championship again this season, but I'm excited to see how the returning players will do in more significant roles and how they will set the tone for new players.

I wasn't able to check out the rookie camp.......how did Quizi look in goal?
He's an 05 who put up great numbers in the OJHL last year......in 34 games he had a 2.79 GAA and a SV% of 0.912
