Good for Mayer. Had excellent playoffs but a brutal game so far. That goal should help his confidence.

Crazy... I really don't know how a team hosting a Mem Cup lands on Ernst as their goaltender. Listed at 6 2 but doesn't play like it.

I'll be honest. I had belief in the Petes all playoffs long and into the Memorial Cup but the way the first game vs Kamloops went south I had my doubts when they were down 1-4 in this one. It was more of the same that we saw in the first game between these teams. I didn't see the Petes coming back in this one. I don't think the problems are solved but players willing themselves back into this one. Crazy stuff.

I feel like if the Petes play their game and weather the storm early, there's a good chance of winning. The Petes are now used to the arena and the crowd and because they watched last night's game, they have studied how the Blazers are beatable and how their crowd can be quietened.

I would like to see Beck and Stillman have a big game. I wouldn't be surprised if one of our defenseman gets a big goal.
You were right. Brian Zanetti tied the game. We actually had two defencemen score big goals. Sam Mayer also scored to make it 4-3.

Great showing Petes. I still don't think they looked like Champs. That may be because the OHL is pretty weak this season no?

They have proven in the later stages of the Memorial Cup that they can win against anyone. The now have victories against Quebec and Kamloops. They had to work for all their playoff wins. They were able to defeat the top two teams and a strong London team to win the OHL Championship. The OHL was not weak this year in fact their were seven teams that were in contention for the OHL championship but the Petes were the ones that got the job done. They are a team that works hard, never give up, play with a lot of heart and mostly they are a close team. They call themselves “a brotherhood”. All these characteristics are a true definition of a “Champ”. Our city is so proud what they have achieved to date.

The talent pool in the OHL is spread out more over more teams than the other leagues. That's my take.

On the winning goal last night, Hayes who was sprawled on the ice after Stenkoven had a great chance, Hayes made an amazing play to bat the puck out front of our net out of harm's way right before Beck picked it up and went down the ice and fed Avon. What an assist on two levels.

The trolls and nay sayers will make up any excuse to put this team down no matter t what they accomplish. No matter what happens tonight the Petes are OHL CHAMPIONS and earned their way to the tournament. Hell of a lot more than any Kamloops Blazer can say.
