Seems that way. I was shocked at how much prices had gone up when I visited Boston after a year or so out of the States. Thought this was a good time to be leaving old Blighty but seems very much out of the frying pan and into the fire.

We've had 5 years of insanely unhealthy real estate appreciation, mainly driven by historically low mortgage interest rates, and COVID-related migration. The tide has definitely started to turn. Home interest rates have more than doubled and real estate inventory turnover is markedly longer than a year ago for many areas that recently exploded (Boise, ID, Tacoma, WA, bunches of others). As a homeowner I am kind of bummed the era of "free money" is over, but as a parent, I am very grateful this return to normalcy has begun for my boys' sake.

Well that makes free agency a little more difficult to navigate. It's a risky move to wait on Malkin to make his decision.

This whole situation has been weird. If Hextall offered 3 years for 6, Malkin wanted 4 years for 6, and they couldn't come to agreement, both sides look like idiots to me.
