This is a game I wouldn't take an awful lot from on an individual level. It was reffed pretty tight and it never got into a flow 5v5.
Sir avgard - hockeyprofessorWe love Bert Hodwen! Turned the tide and looked cute doing it. Take away ice time from Lafresk and give it to Bert!
no, its exactly as it reads. Ride the top4. There's only 45 games left. and our 3rd pair is bad anyway we cut iti don't get it, is this sarcasm?
You don't think the 4 d-core can handle 22-24 mins a night in a shortened season?
I bet $50 on the last game. Didn’t go too well for me. Was convinced they turned a corner after the Laf OT goal and I am frankly unimpressed by PIT this year.hey hey heyView attachment 391586
Rooney is a substantial upgrade over McKegg
Very accurate, I’m Shakin’ my head in agreement
Not the team game I wanted to see in the 1st period to be honest. Kreider was definitely on a mission. This team needs 3 good games and wins in a row to actually give themselves confidence. one shaky win like this, it's a building block but I doubt the team will find their confidence from this game.
Not sure that this is becoming such an easy conversation. And frankly this is why as much as it hurts you has to let fast go and you’re going to have to move buchnevich too. You have these kids they need those mins.
I thought I was the only one who was making that connection every time Sam says his name.
Would have won 6 if Shesterkin simply decided that letting beach balls get by him was not a good idea.Would have won 3 in a row if Quinn wasn't an idiot.

This is not a Fast conversation.neber was going to be easy but it still needs to be done just like it was with Fast
I don’t think any actual coach in reality isn’t going to do their best to win. That’s an HF mindset that doesn’t translate to the real world imo. Gallant for example wouldn’t come here and try not to win games. In a way, signing Panarin was bad for us. Because it put our GM and coach into "win now mode". Well, we can't do it with this squad. But right now, Quinn is trying to save his ass by winning as many games as possible. This means, more icetime to Panarin, Buch, Zib, Kreids, Strome. And the bottom-6, who can keep it from their own end. Take a guess who is caught in the middle? Yup, Kakko and Lafreniere with less than 10mins icetime, constantly swapping lines etc.
What needs to be done, is fire Quinn. I mean no point trying to salvage this thing IMO, no offense to him.
Second, whoever comes second, should have the first priority in making Lafreniere, Kakko, Chytil etc. differencemakeres in the NHL. f*** the playoffs, I'd rather enter them when the team is ready.
Playoffs are nice when you have never had them (or had them for a long time), but ask Minnesota. Getting jumped from the 1st round 10 years in a row isn't that funny either.
I mean absolutely, and if I was in the shoes of Quinn I too would rather play guys like Howden, Lemieux and Di Giuseppe besides Kakko or Lafreniere because they WILL get the puck out, are sound defensively (or atleast more sound) to kill time before putting Panarin and co. on the ice. But is it good for the club?I don’t think any actual coach in reality isn’t going to do their best to win. That’s an HF mindset that doesn’t translate to the real world imo. I heard when you put Kreider, Panarin, Fox, Mika, and Strome together, it's like forming a gigantic Devastator power play.
