They have to wait until they clear waivers tomorrow and then they can send those guys down. That only saves them $3 million in cap space, the rest is just dead cap I believe.

Guentzel is on LTIR, remember? Plus, he doesn't have to be added to the roster the second the trade is consummated and approved by NHL. There is usually a day's gap. He could be added to roster after those guys all clear waivers.

I see Perrault as an extremely talented but undersized forward whose known for being a little lazy outside of the offensive zone and think "Sullivan's just gonna love him."

He will go from top ten prospect to assistant captain of the wb pens alongside Captain ty Smith when he is 27 years old.

I almost prefer othmman because his play style would have a better chance to succeed in a Sullivan run team.

Yeah that’s so true. It’s usually not black or white but in this case it’s LITERALLY genius or stupidity. The HFBoard is split, we shall see how the game plays out

Yeah this is exactly right, I realized that as soon as I posted it.

Guentzel isn't eligible to come off until LTIR until the 10th anyway, so they're waiving these guys now to be able to send them down once Guentzel is off of LTIR.

The long and short of it is that anything that is done, or not done, will simply, maybe, impact the length of the rebuild. And that would be relatively minimal. Any return will have maybe a 50/50 chance of being an actual player for the Pens. And it is extremely unlikely any who make it would be more than a day to day role player.

So keep that in mind before getting too worked up about the return. Or if there is no trade at all.

By 4pm tomorrow the Pittsburgh Penguins will be the odds-on favourites to win the 2025 Stanley Cup.

I actually enjoy this kind of TDL more than the previous ones.

When we saw those actual headlines from everyone, 'how can anyone stop the Pens', and knew that somehow the Pens would screw it up.

This is much more relaxing.
