TB? As in the TB who now plays for Vegas?Moving on From TB and Granlund would help too.
Shooting %
Granlund 2.6%
TB 3.2%
But ya the coach using the bottom 6 like trash doesn't help.

We've all dumped good-looking girls. Well, I have at least. When they are dumped, it doesn't always mean they aren't good-looking or aren't a decent person, it just means "we should not be together anymore".I mean frankly it probably is #1 and they're making a mistake letting him go.
I get why they'll probably end up moving on from Jarry but it will probably end up being a mistake.
Highly circumstantial. How likely is it that we are THAT far out of the playoff race by the TDL? The directive is still to compete for the cup. Is Dubas (and Sullivan I guess) really going to put a team together that will do significantly worse than last year? I have doubts. The issue with Jake isn’t that he isn’t good now or good for the Pens now…the issue is what to do with his expiring contract on a team that maybe has one year or two years of contention and he’s going to be turning 30 … we don’t have to sell him this summer but we should sell him by the trade deadline if we don’t look like a team capable of winning the Cup by then…get a first round pick back for him or a really good prospect or NHL player…he has a lot of value…I personally think we can sign or trade for a group of forwards that will more than make up for his production, especially considering he nets nearly the same number of EN goals than he does goals at ES lol…he’s small, has had injuries and is turning 30…sell high

Guentzel was also the team's #1 shooter, during a year they were 31st in shooting and 24th the year before.
It's similar to how keen people were last summer to blow up the blue line after they finished 5th in the league in GA/G. This year they finished 19th after their changes, and missed the playoffs because of them.
Who's coming in here and doing more for the team with his 6M AAV? Will his replacement have chemistry with Sid?
Monday morning fantasy stuff:
Gryz+Hall+Ullmark for POJ, Poulin, 2nd, CDS
Garland+1st 2023 for 1st 2023
3rd CHI for Granlund
Sign DOC, Poehling, Smith Connor Brown, and a BUG - I used Korpisolo at $2mil
Jake-Sid-Rakell
Hall-Malkin-Garland
Brown-Poehling-Rust
DOC-Carter-Nylander
Puustinen
Grzelcyk-Letang
Pettersson-Petry
Smith-Rutta
Rudwedel
Ullmark-Korpisolo
$800k in space left. Slightly weak at 3C. Thought out doing something like Rutta for a 3C and signing a depth #6/7.
The 4 best dmen missing an average of 22 games each might have had something to do with that. As too might the fact that in changing things out, they didn't change out the guy who most needed changing.
In all fairness, how many teams can help Boston out by taking nearly $13mil in cap space off their hands?I can tell you are a Penguins fan judging by the trades.
Letang?

Garland is a free asset and the price is relatively minor for them to get out of his contract all things considered.
Hence the term "fantasy".Just seems like a lot of players involved in trades and I don’t see Vancouver wanting to drop down in the 1st.
Letang is most in need of being replaced on the PP lolI can tell you are a Penguins fan judging by the trades.

Well I for one vehemently disagree that they need to change out the goaltender. You'll get similar results from anyone because of the system/coaching/etc.
No sir... I believe the real key here is to spend all the money on that third line, instead. Those guys are in a prime position to succeed with the right personnel in this system. With that big fat 70some percent DZ deployment or whatever it is.
While I know you are being facetious with the rumored players available and then UFA market I’d prefer we just invest in 3 2-5 million forwards that can actually produce and play sound defensively in our top nine. We’ve seen that work with Vegas this year. Granted they have a very deep d-core.
I look forward to the team desperately trying to find a way to wriggle out of the next McGinn.
But nah nah... I'm sure they'll get it right this time. Tenth times the charm or whatever.
Not talking McGinn type. Something like a combination of a cap dump like Iafallo or Arvidsson, a 23ish year old like Kurashev or Rasmussen in a deal to dump Granlund with our 1st, and a player like Connor Brown as a UFA with some upside on a cheap one year deal.
Some interesting ideas there. I always watched Iafallo and thought maybe there was a little more, there. But he's never cracked 20 in six campaigns so who knows.
On a different note... I saw him mentioned earlier but Vrana always intrigued me. And his contract is currently being retained at 50% by Detroit -- though I'm uncertain if St. Louis is interested in moving him since he seemed to play pretty well there and I've heard no rumors of him being shopped or whatever. But if Armstrong is willing to pick up the phone about him that might be an OK low dollar move for a potential top six player.
Philly ain’t gonna trade Laughton to the Pens…get your head out of the clouds lol
No chance in hell do I trade a 1st for Laughton. I'm sick of trading our 1sts for middle six forwards. If they're trading the 1st, it better be some sort of impact guy coming back. Otherwise, just either look to free agency or look for bargain options around the league who provide a similar skillset.Friedman had mentioned during the weekend that the Flyers already have late firsts on the table for Laughton and they wont trade him for that much. At that price I easily pass. They want the Coleman/Hagel/Jeannot package for him.
