Wish they were so close to getting this clown fired. He's been awful at coaching for three straight seasons including getting completely exposed in the playoffs.

Wish he would've coached team USA so national media could see the idiotic shit he does with his favorites.

I actually like watching Pit games and other than the Habs theyre easy my most watched team in the last 4-5 years I cant really figure out what's happening right now with them at all still early in the season but they just looked so out of sync on that road trip and its continuing

We completely altered our forward lines for reasons unknown and Sullivan's staff can't coach his way out of a special teams bag.

The Penguins needed to move off of at least both Malkin and Letang during the 2021 offseason, when it became clear after 3 consecutive 1st round exits that the core was simply not good enough anymore to compete for a Stanley Cup.

They could have even included Crosby in that, and asked him if he would have preferred a trade to a destination of his choice rather than spend the last years of his career on a rebuilding team.

All of this would have been unpopular with the fan base. But the fan base will now be forced to suffer through a team that is going through a very slow death over several seasons rather than accelerating a much-needed rebuild.

I don’t think Pittsburgh will ever ask Crosby to be traded. Either Crosby comes to them or they sign him until he retires.

You wouldn't be asking him for permission to trade him in the scenario I mentioned.

You would be asking him if he would like to be traded or if he would like to go through a rebuild.

It would be his choice and his preference whatever answer he gave.

You would be telling him that it was ok if he wanted to stay, but you would be respecting him enough to tell him that the team would be going through a rebuild so he wasn't blind-sided by it the way Kane and Toews are saying they have been blind-sided in Chicago.

Sullivan is certainly an issue . Outdated style and very predictable.
Deeper issues are an aging slow D. Lack of forward depth. Bonehead moves by hextall ( RR was good ) petry was brutal and Kapanen worse. Marino instantly became a legit top 4 D when you remove Sullivan. Both goalies are average at best and won't steal a game .
Oh then there is Burke..LOL

Burke and hextall lost connection. They wanted an old slow soft team and they got it.... maybe trade petry for Marino!!!

The issue is clearly a lack of truculence. Maybe the Pens can reacquire Ryan Reaves...

I thought Pittsburgh badly out played, and out coached Buffalo for the first two periods. When their legs got heavy from playing last night they couldn't keep up their system which looks exhausting for the wingers.

They certainly baited Buffalo into dangling turnover after turnover and generated many 2 on 1s.

They had 20 shots.

if by outplayed you mean converted 2 odd man rushes and then we’re outshot the rest of the period. Yes.

Badly outplayed?

ha.
