From the GM > Coaching Staff > Roster, it smells rotten.

Wouldn’t shock me to see them miss the playoffs.

Also wouldn’t shock me if they eke in, then get their stuff together and knock off Boston.

Hockey’s a weird sport for parity, if I had to put money on it I’d say this core is past its expiration date, but there’s a lot of talent and experience on that team.

Lmao thanks for the laugh. Pens would lose to the bruins in 5. I get being optimistic but that ain’t it

On my keister
They'll likely squeak in, but it's the end of an era between them and the Caps. Good on both for having runs longer than many of you have been able to drink, but all things must pass.

Just saying, hockey’s weird.

Some puck luck combined with hot goaltending can take a series.
Penguins dont have a goalie capable of getting hot ....and the puck luck you speak of comes with hard work speed and dedication. I would be shocked if pitt won a single game against Boston. They probably would not score 7 goals in the series.

Agreed, if not for crobsy , zucker, Malkin and the occasional letang showing this is a bottom feeder team with the weakest bottom 6 forward group in the NHL and the softest olderest roster. Below average goaltending and out dated coach

Starting to think isles and florida get the last two spots. How does a professional club As a playoff team continue to dress jarry?

Their core is obviously past its prime but still very good (Crosby malkin letang) The problem is the rest of the team isn’t good. They lack depth big time and their GM made some bad moves

Desmith also kinda sucks

Still trying to figure out why they resigned Malkin and Letang. Going to be some slow dark years in Pittsburgh coming up.

I don't even think they played poorly. Their defense was bad, but Penguins had plenty of high quality scoring chances. 6-0 is misleading. Shesterkin was great. Jarry and DeSmith were laughably bad.

If Jarry can't figure it out, they're not going to make the playoffs.

Just chiming in to point out that the Penguins' run was longer, more consistent, and more successful than the Caps' run.

You had a solid first period with a bunch of scoring chances that got stopped. The second period the rangers put their foot down and it was over.
The third period doesnt count. Its easy to put up high quality chances in a game where one side stopped playing hard.

The big guns have held up their end of the deal. The problem with the team is every aspect of coaching, depth (or lack thereof), defense, power play (which the head coach admitted they don’t actually coach) and goaltending.

Other than that, we’re ship shape.
