There’s people on this board that have had their “hot take” as the Pens won’t make the playoffs for 7 years.

Nah making the playoffs is a fine place to be.

The worst place to be is finishing just outside the playoff picture. The Pens could well end up there, but doesn't seem likely since their underlying numbers are pretty solid.

I have to say, the annual Penguins are doomed thread is my favorite HFboards tradition. They'll go on something like a 12-2 run in the next few weeks and lose in the playoffs like usual.

I like the Pens as to roster this year. Yes they are old age wise but they are playing at a very good level. If healthy and a couple smart moves this year, Pens can play with anyone. What they need is Jarry to be very good in the playoffs as that has been the issue the last couple of playoffs.

It's a well deserved farewell tour if anything. And it's ok, this core won 3 cups for us. And who knows they might put it together one of these seasons and go on a run. The rebuild can wait a bit.

The thing is Sullivan made stupid roster moves. Every fan and their mother were saying put Rakell back to Crosby line and take Rust out of the PP1. After those moves Pens are like 12-1-1 or something and PP is clicking also

5 straight loses, one blown 3-1 lead to Edmonton, one loss against Calgary where the shots were at one point like 25-4, multi goal loss against Vancouver, followed by a multi goal loss against Seattle, and now a blown 5-2 lead against Boston at home.
