How does playing goalie qualify as experience for becoming a GM? I would say any fan who has played the sport at any level and watches a lot of hockey has more rounded experience than a goalie who spends his entire adult life hyper- focused on excelling at a skillset.

For the record, I disagree that you know more about the sport and would be a better general manager than Ron Hextall. It is my privilege to be able to have a open dialog of discussion with a hockey mind this great.

I never stated I know more about the "sport", Hextall has spent his entire adult life IN the sport.

But I would stack my decision making & logic up against HEX all day every day. ONE glaring example, he gave JEFF F'n CARTER a 2 year contract with an aging core................. Read that contract thread and you'll see that my logic matched against Hex's destroys your argument.

I referred to Sceviour, Simon and Janikowski as turds. They aren’t “NHL players.”

How has Sully not been a moron this year? I guess you must be mad at Sully because you defended him not moving Dumo down the lineup because “it would hurt the locker room.”

Now that it appears he is FINALLY putting him on the third pair, you must be irate.

People need to get it through their heads that the core isn't good anymore. And we kept them all.

This is the fallout. Very little to do with coaching.

Core looked fantastic against the Rangers iN the play offs 6 months ago.

The supporting cast aint exactly stellar.

The coach has become a mere passenger.

Any GM who thinks the 35 year old Piilon Petry is an upgrade ........i gotta question that hockey IQ.

Jarry has not been the goalie he was last season.

They are what we thought they were ........... a vet team taking one more run at it. Hope tp stay healthy and get to the play offs.

The defense changes were made to be tougher to play against in the playoffs. Particularly in front of our net.

It hasn't worked out to this point yet but again I'm a level headed fan with 30+ more home game tickets to go. Its a long season. Plenty of time to turn this thing around.

Petry was a better fit than Matheson on this particular team all things told. I got to laugh at the chronic posters that say "Try Something" and then something is tried and there's outrage it might have been the wrong move.

Every time the keyboard experts point at the core being good they just stat points/offense stats. What about all the turnovers that lead to goals? Something that's not quantified in a stat and therefore not part of the argument.

Not sure if its laziness, a lack of understanding the game or just not a part of someone's narrative.

Crosby is on fire this year. I don’t see him winning any scoring titles or Hart’s at his age, but he definitely has some big years left in him. Still elite and a top 5 forward in my opinion. Not enough people take into account his 200 ft game and assume someone like Kucherov is better because he has more points in a given year. Stop it.
