I don't think the hit was overly dirty (non suspendable), but Angello knew exactly what he was doing. Motte was in vulnerable position and he didn't exactly pull up. I really liked the Rangers response as well. Miller got right in Angello's face but didnt take a penalty, then Laf crushed him with a hit when he got out of the box. Goodrow playing mind games with Malkin was also a smart veteran move.

Its hilarious that Angello & Friedman, who most likely wont even be in the lineup in Game 1, showed more fight than the rest of the flightless birds combined

A couple of updates,....

I think we all hope the Isles knock off the Canes tonight. But if they don't, we clinch a playoff spot.

Chytil out will have a big impact on that 3rd line. It just got that much slower. Laff and Kakko will have Goodrow in the middle. None are considered to have great speed.

Too bad Motte is out as well. He would have been a good fit between Laff and Kakko. Hard to say Gallant would have used him there, but I think his speed would have been a good fit there.

Worst trade Verbeek made, the best one he made was rescinded by the NHL because Vegas front office are run by idiots. A 3rd round pick was not worth it for guys like Zegras and Terry to get roughed up by Tom Wilson of the west.

Thank God the Isles didn't make the playoffs. They play a great defensive game.

That was exciting in Carolina. Canes tie it up at one apiece with a minute remaining. And then Kyle Palmeri does his best Jaromir Jagr impersonation,... circling out from behind the net, strong on the puck with only one hand, with our good friend Brady Skjei all over him, and was still able to rip a top shelf goal to win it with 16 seconds left on the clock. LOL

The look on Brady Skjei face afterwards was priceless.

We share first place with a win tomorrow. :DD

If they didn't have to play their first 13 games on the road while their new arena was being finished,... and then getting hit hard by COVID, they would have made it to the playoffs. They went to the Eastern Finals the last two years.

Not going to read above. Just want to start a new thought even if it has been said.

I have 100% confidence in a series win against the Pens. Be it in 4, 5, 6 or 7. I don’t see a loss against them. I’ll roll the dice with the Canes in Round 2. I think we see a new Rangers team with confidence in that series. Huge Ranger support in Raleigh as well. No interest in the Bs, Ning or Caps in Round 1 as an alternative. Let’s play the Undertaker to Sidney/Malkin/Letang/Sullivan.

Absolutely. In a vacuum, it wasn’t a bad hit. But it was the product of a team running around looking for hits rather than playing hockey.

Somehow the Rangers were able to navigate playing a bunch of road games most of the season and they had a handful of Covid games, the season is 82 games. Those are two tired arguments Islanders fans use that have no merit.

How about the following game where the entire team stood up and fought. Wonder why that was.

If you think for one minute that a sociopath like Wilson is scared to hit anyone because a guy that plays 3 mediocre shifts a game is on the bench then I won't say it what I think of your response

I want good hockey players playing, Reaves is done as a player. The team can more than handle themselves.

That hit was happening if Probert-Kocur-Domi was the 4th line.
