Getting Older

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server

Almost 40 now and it's hard to believe. Feels like yesterday I was playing minor hockey and going to high school. Also getting to the age where more and more people's parents that you know are passing away and makes you think about life.

How do you guys feel about getting older?

1. Bluechew .... its awesome

2. Edibles more, smoke less

3. Kids? I built a really solid fort yesterday and threw my 2 year old in there and it took him at least 10 mins to get out of there. You can accomplish a lot in 10 mins.

4. You'll enjoy walks, bird watching, cooking whole rotisserie chickens. Enjoy less things with melted cheese, avoid crowds and driving at night.

5. Yacht rock ... you'll love it a few years

6. Bananas .. you'll need those for your gout

7. Hims spray for hair loss ... it actually works, you keep what you have

Oh man, I'm nearing the big 4-0. And I never felt older. Then I was teaching and a university student goes... My mom is 44!

That hit me. Like, I could be these adults moms.

I remember watching reunion episodes of like Saved by the Bell having Zach go to his 20 year reunion and he looked so old. Well, I'm that person now! I don't feel like I look that way, but I'm pretty sure to a 20 year old, I do.

Also find my self having no idea what those cool kids are saying!

At the Age of 99, I consider myself the "Elder" of the forum. And I can tell u it only get`s worse every single year. Here are some Tip`s `n` Trick`s that have helped me over the year`s.
  • Buy a vehicle with Great gas mileage. In today`s economy u want to make every mile count. I recommend a Ford. Alway`s top off your Gas for better mileage.
  • Play the lottery very often. U can`t win if u don`t play. I have won multiple lottery jackpot`s over the year`s and it has been a Boon to my family.

I would like to add a Amendum to this witch is tip number 3: DROP OUT OF SCHOOL TO PLAY XBOX. There is no reason 2 sit around at school all day reading Wuthering height`s, this will not help u in life. U mind as well have some fun and play Xbox instead, School is a waste of time.

Getting older pisses me off.

When I was in my teens and 20s, I played soccer all the time. I would run through sprained ankles, back spasms, muscle pulls and everything else. I had an accident at work once where I actually got taken out in an ambulance on a headboard and I was back on the field the following week. I could eat an extra large pizza and chase it with a 3-Liter of Pepsi and wake up the next morning lighter than I was the night before.

Now, I don't even have to eat food to put on weight -- I can just drive down the street where it's sold, and the molecules flying through the air will attach themselves to me. And if a pine cone falls out of a tree and hits the ground in my zip code, my asshole will fall out of my butt, down the leg of my jeans and hit the floor.

Everyday is a step closer to the grave. Life is conscious tho - eternal. Scary yet humbling. Interesting.
