I personally don't care because most fans don't realize it's supposed to be derogatory (Rags). I got a little annoyed this time just because of the poster's comments in general but in general I think Rangers fans are way too sensitive about it. It's like if Flyers fans made up Pens and we used thinking it was just short for Penguins. Sure a rag even not in the manner used by Devils fans is less flattering than Pens, but what else would you call the Rangers for short? The Rans?
Why does Rangers need to be shortened? How about NYR?

Whereas I am thinking opposite. Igor NEEDS the work, get into a nice rythym. What has Georgiev been complaining about like forever? Back-up goalie has to be the most difficult job, worse than a back-up QB. Takes a special breed to be sharp when asked to do so. Pretty sure Georgiev would fare better as a starter. (ELSEWHERE)
I trust Allaire in these issues. I don't think GG wants to rest Shesty this much but Allaire has to be feeding him info that Shesty needed some rest.

Well well.... its been suitably humiliating and we're finding old clips of Therrien rants to pass time in Pensguin's world. Solution, gotta find solution. Ole recipe, maybe.

In any event, your team has us figured out, clearly, and even if today sans Crosby and a few more might not be indicative with Shesterkin having to be the best player on the ice still, losing three in row and scoring 1 - ONE - ES goal in the season series.... Brian frigging Boyle.... is.

Getting ready do actually hate you guys a bit in round 1. You have the opportunity to put what we have come to know as the Pens to sleep (Crosby, Malkin, Letang). Another 1st round loss and there will be change with bloodless new ownership.

I don't think the pens will roll over and die in the playoffs. Three of the four games have been extremely tight. We don't give the pens much, but they've been just as stingy. Igor's given us very little reason to doubt him, but this will also be his first post-season, and it's going to come down to him for us to beat them. Pittsburgh can neutralize our PP, and if they do, it won't be an easy series--much more of a coin toss I think.

I always take great amounts of joy when we beat the pens. That's for damn sure. I still don't think we steamroll them in the playoffs. I'd say six games at minimum if we bring our best game. It's a veteran group that knows how to handle themselves in the post-season.

I cannot f***ing stand Carolina, but I've never wanted them to win a game so badly before. I think clinching will take the pressure off the young guys. Hopefully they help us out tonight and win.

It's absolutely going to be a tough series. I see it going 6 or 7.

The hit on Motte was one hundred percent clean so I'm not sure what the point of the deterrence argument is.

He's a great 4th liner so I hope he's not injured but that was just a solid hip check that unfortunately looked like it may have caused some whiplash.

They 100% need to work on alleviating the pressure up top on the PP against teams like Pitt and Carolina.

Zone entries were rough as well. We need to simplify things.. Hopefully it's something they address over the next couple of weeks at practice

Calgary and Colorado. Those are the only two teams I think we’d have a really hard time beating. Of course we’d only have to beat one of them

I don’t like having to play vasilevskiy that’s not going to be fun. But I don’t think there’s a team in the East that we can’t beat. We are contenders now.

I don’t see us beating Carolina either. They’re the only team in the east I’m really afraid of, maybe Florida. Every other team is kind of a coin flip in a series at this point

I agree, the Hurricanes are probably the team I am wary of facing the most, even more than Florida. They are just relentless with their forecheck and I am not sure the Rangers are capable of countering it. Those are the teams that give the Rangers the most trouble.

Carolina doesn't have an off-switch. They're like zerg rush after zerg rush the moment the match starts.

(showing a bit of my nerdness there lol)

But, at the same time, getting Reaves is what helped get this team to this point. You may be making that point here as well, but he was 100% needed for this team to move forward. Help the young guys know what they need to do when it gets to moments like this.

Miller was the first dude that went after Angello. That doesn't happen in November. The kids needed someone to help them get to a point where they know how to handle themselves.
Even Laf. If you rerack the tape, I am pretty sure he is pointing someone out with his stick, ready to eviscerate someone. Again, I was pounding the living room floor, frothing at the mouth watching the culminating festivities.

Their fans have been saying they haven't been playing that well lately. Even last night's game. You have to wonder if the way they play is taking a toll on them. It isn't easy. These aren't machines. They are humans. They tire just like everybody else.

We're officially in Pittsburgh's heads. Doesn't matter if Cindy is in the lineup or not. We have them off-focused...I don't see Pittsburgh winning the first round against us...we have an answer for anything they got.

Fair enough - but they're still dead last on my list in the east of who do you want to face.

The Rangers have a chance to end the Penguins dynasty, but Crosby isn’t going to go willingly. I still think we see a 6-7 game series with them. PIT will get their late goals and favorable calls but NYR are clearly the better team
