I agree, but I would not call last season the future expectation.

I think they can't be left to, "Patrice and David come save us again, pretty please?"

If they haven't committed, plan like they won't be here.

If they come back, great we have them, but I think they should be plan B, not plan A. All in all, if plan A doesn't work out, and plan B isn't an option, well, I guess we'll move to plan C. But rather address the team with plan A.
I agree that at some point, you need to rely on young guns.

This is not a rebuilding organization. As long as Jacobs is here, they will lean on their horses no matter how old and how over worked. The advantage of that model occurs during long, almost meaningless regular seasons; the disadvantage is during the playoffs when both depth and star power come to the forefront.

From where I sit Bergy is a major leader on the bench and ice. He doesn't yell but when he speaks the other players listen.

I also know a bunch of guys who work for the Bruins....Bergy is also the leader in the room.

I hate when fools post stupid stuff. They know nothing.

No one is denying he is the leader. It’s just whether he’s an effective one. He certainly hasn’t been able to push them over the edge in the playoffs even with the best regular season team to ever play.

Unfortunately that will be part of his legacy forever.

When all is done, 5 Selke, 1 SC., WC, Olympic gold, wjc and MVP of the tournament, Spengler, All star game, 1000 games with the same organisation, 1000 points, HOF, Mark Messier trophy, great person and important implication in the community and more and more, etc,.....will be his legacy....

That will be part of his legacy too especially to bruins fans. But the nhl community will forever remember the playoff choking as well.

That article is 10 years old.

Since this article they have more regular season points than any other team and three president trophies. More regular season points than any other team and zero postseason success.

So what exactly is your point with this article? That article aged very poorly because they didn’t do shit with him healthy either in the 10 years after this article was posted.

He was important in 2011 and imo 2013 Boston went down because imo Hawks bullied and targeted Bergeron in the final, and 37 was still Bruins corner stone in 2022-2023 at..... 37!!! You were referring to legacy, most Bruins fans will remember 37 for what I wrote.... not your chocking analysis bull....

Now UncleRico, I'm done!

I’m flipping to he’s retiring

Inside info or just a guess? because I don’t think he leaves on a sour note like this year

I think he takes a smaller role maybe 3rd line and reduced games to keep him healthy for the playoffs

To be Continued...

Im really hoping Bergys coming back for one more year, but even if he decides to end his playing career, I don't think his impact will come to a halt. He has future team president written all over him and Im pretty sure on June 26 you can add that 6th Selke.

Although I have 0.0 knowledge on if he’s even made a decision it’s more than a guess

He's not going to have a better chance to win the Cup next year than he did last year.
I see no reason why he would go through the grind again.
Next year is a better chance than last because last year they lost. The choice is between playing next year and retiring. Think he's got a better chance to win the Cup if he plays

Nah. Not to real fans.

Depends on which fans you are talking about. A lot of fans are bigger fans of players than they are of the organization.

Personally for me no player is above the organization and it’s a results driven league. The results haven’t been good unless you’re content with being the NHL version of the Peyton manning Indianapolis colts.

The organization has retired numbers of guys who've done less for the team
